April or May at the latest, One of the most highly anticipated games in history being killed by delays. It already should be a superior game by now...I don't think people who are saying they would embrace another delay are understanding this...THIS GAME SHOULD BE FINISHED BY NOW. Or close enough to finished where they shouldn't need until October to ship it. yes, but how do we know that it's not just bugs that have to be worked out, mabey they're having technical difficulties . I remember reading that Rockstar was apparently having problems with Gta4 on the PS3 They had problems with both platforms as any developer would with any game. But where do you draw the line? They could in theoretically keep delaying the game forever to make a better game, as the developers continue to get to know the new systems better, they could constantly improve the game. mcgriz Posted January 16, 2008 Share Posted January 16, 2008 Way to long to wait until October, if they made this game any better than it already looks they might as well just skip it and use everything for the following GTA. Having it delayed this much is something I have not been used to with GTA in the past and I can only hope that it doesn't become a trend. It would've been ok had they not given out an initial release date and just said first quarter of 2008. Also having to wait a year for the 2nd episodic content is too long too! I'm all for playing GTA a lot, but waiting a year for new stuff missions/areas would suck unless they were pretty significant i.e you'd been left on a cliff hanger and it lead to another 25% minimum of the already played story. I'd like to have the game as fast as possible i don't want it with bugs and lots of Glitches and bad framerate... i just hope that they are done now so they can release it soon... i don't think theyre gonna delay it one more time either... If GTA IV gets delayed Until December 2008 because they think they havent completed it and its not ready then I support them 100% People at Rockstar are working hard on this game, some are coming in on weekends so we can get this game. Seriously stop being so Selfish...I can't believe if anyone (I havent checked) has said no and they would not support Rockstar, I mean Come on, they would only delay to make it better for us. I can recount numerous examples where a game delay was solely because the game wasn't finished (Daikatana, Duke Nukem Forever), wasn't done with localization (Final Fantasy XII), or was going through a bunch of financial loopholes (Perfect Dark Zero, Resident Evil Zero). Not all game delays are to make the game better, and I really so no reason aside from problems internally with the developers at R* that another long delay would be necessary. There's no way, even considering how groundbreaking this game will be and how radical the changes are, that it would take them a full 4 years to finish it. Regardless, even though I wouldn't support a delay (I didn't like the reasons given for the first one and the dodging of questions by the higher-ups at T2), I would have to accept the fact because we can really do nothing as fans to make them release it earlier. A delay is never an ideal situation for developers, plus it has to be negotiated with the publisher; its not like they can just take another month or two as they feel like it. I remember a story from one of the big U.S. analysts that said if Take 2 waited until Q2 it would basically haul them out of the $hit, financially. It certainly rings truer than a 6mnth delay because of format issues... Anyway, I think we can rule out October 08 for sure. I have a life outside of gaming, and have important things to tend to, like work, college ect. Sadly other peolpe just sit on their asses in front of the PC screens waiting for the best things to happen. So yep, either way, I would support the delay. Man some people expect way too much, and that's where the bitching and complaining sets in. Dude i seriously dont understand why you are calling people ungrateful? Rockstar have said the game will launch between february and April, that's when people are expecting it. If they delayed it again that wouldn't be very acceptable. Can you see why people might feel a bit pissed? I see what you are saying dude. But some people just act like R* owe them there whole life or something. Oh yeah i understand that. I remember this guy he is probably busted now but he said " i have sent rockstar several personal emails and they have not responded. I am very pissed off now I'm their most loyal fan.
