Territory Glitch for SA PC

Yeah I hate it to "conquer" Territories, because the AI sucks, but since people got all crazy about this whole thing and nobody really really found a method for accessing the glitch on the PC yet I made a bit of researched, hacked something together out of an old source-code and wrote a geeky little tool that gives away all territories in a save-file to ballas or vagos (by random). So here you go: Just drop your savefile on it and it's patched (BACK IT UP FIRST!).

Here's a little "Proof of Concept Shot" for you:

Would be nice to hear some feedback if it works for you (only tested on a 1.0 US Save, but should work for any version with any possible patch). For Source please contact me, as it's very lame written Delphi Code and I want to clean it up a bit before releasing it.

So, it hands over territories randomly to either the Ballas, Vagos or GSF; but do the corresponding gang members spawn in their territories like the traditional territory glitch?

The Engine gives a territory a color when it detects a gang with a number between 0 and 2 being "active" in the area. The Gangs are Ballas (0), Grove (1) and Vagos (2). Areas with different tones of a colors are owned by more than one gang as it seems (for example in San Fierro there are Ballas and Fierro Gangs next to each other). Didn't really notice that at first, but I guess that's the explanation. Also I forgot to include drug dealers. They shouldn't show up anywhere but LS at the moment. I'll work on an more advanced tool for setting this kind of stuff soon. Actually all the stuff I used is already known in the scene, I just put it all together. Look here for more infos: Link. My Tool sets the byte to 100 (out of a 255) so Gangs are not "overpopulated", 100 is a pretty common number in LS as it seems.

This sounds like a rather interesting tool, and I'm glad to see that our wiki documentation is getting put to good use. I recently added several gang turfs to LV and SF in The Chain Game Round 24, and have been running a few tests on the modifications. Based on your description of the modifications, there are a few bugs that I anticipate will be present on this initial release.

Many zones have popcycles without gangs present. This includes almost all desert and country regions. If your goal is to simulate the frustration of the PS2 glitch where it is difficult to coax gang member cross country or wars must be chained across zones and allowed to time-out in order to maintain a supply of targets, then this might work out well. When gangs are added to many zones with the standard popcylces and ped groups, there is often a marked reduction in traffic and ped variety. Frequently I could tweak the relatively unknown ped group and get things working again, but occasionally I needed to change the peds and cars group to something similar before things looked fairly normal.

Many of these problems can probably be overcome by adjusting the popcycle groups, but this type of modification isn't compatible with the chain game mods, or a drag and drop tool like yours. I have notes on the zones, popcycles, and groups at a private site, if you think this information would be useful I'll start collecting the most relevant data and codes. Have you been able to identify each specific zone in the save file, or are the random modification still necessary at this point in the development? The zonepop sequence in the save file starts with SAN_AND, then includes each zone in the order found in info.zon, but skip the duplicate entry for MONINT.

BTW, 100 is a very high gang density. In a normal game 10 is low, 40 is high, and most are somewhere in between. A glitched zone has a density of 1. Also, territories which are defended from attacks have the density increased by 10, so much higher densities are possible for people who work at it. Dealer density of less than 10 is normal (usually 2, 4, or 6). I have 100 in some zones, they are everywhere. It's fun for now, but I suspect it'll get boring soon enough. I didn't want to put dealers everywhere because I'm interested in studying their migration habits - if any.

Added: Tool works on a v1 save that has been converted to version 2. It should work as advertised on a pure v2 or v3 save. No version information is included with initial tool. The tool did not create a backup of the original file.

The tool does not enable gangwars on a save without gangwars active - I don't see any reason why this couldn't be a default action of the tool. There's a stat display flag that also needs adjusting to get things to look right. Integer stat 337 = 1 enables the "territories under control" statistic.

The strange colored zones often appear to be related to layers of zones; San Andreas for the Whole Map, Red County, San Fierro etc. on top of that, smaller neighborhoods within the cities, and occasionally a tiny zone within zone like the train stations.

Updated: As I anticipated, the desert and country regions are almost completely deserted and the gangs don't spawn.

So WordsBG. Is there any chance you are planning an update for your Turf Glitcher Tool?

Territories on WATER? How am i supposed to get them? cry.gif

By the way, I noticed another problem: I went to El Corona, there were both Ballas and Aztecas, but when I took the turf the Aztecas also disappeared. I don't want the Aztecas to disappear!

How do I use "tha tool"?

Please dont bump topics! Just send a PM to the Topic Starter and he should be able to tell you.

As the author has indicated, this is any extremely hacky method of glitching your turfs. The author did not make any attempt to make the glitch function properly. Each and every turf simply has gangs added so you can trigger the war if you can figure out how. I'd like to see a tool that was a little more careful about how it set up the turf glitches, but I suspect development on this particular application is at an end.

BTW, I'd much rather have my old topic bumped than receive a PM. I'm not sure why people would suggest such a thing, or why board members think they can tell people how to use the forums. This is a great little tool, even if it is a bit hacky, and the topic deserves a good bump once in a while.

Yeah, it's a good program, those little glitches aren't important, I'll try to enjoy "tha tool".

Just select the savegame file, move it as if you were going to move it to another folder, but instead put it on "tha tool", then release the button.

EDIT: By the way, what on hell happens with cops? They'are now everywhere! I'm getting more and more identified with Dean France from GTA 2.

Taken over most of SF, after getting tired of "Your hood is under attack." messages in LS. Unfortunately, in most territories in the South-West countryside (i.e. around Mount Chiliad) gangsters don't actually spawn, so they can't be taken over. sad.gif

Click on the savegame file, as you do to move a file to another folder, and then release the file over the tool program.

There is a territory subwindow (you can also modify the type of neighborhood). Just select the territory you want to have (it will appear in another color), then go to the part where it says Grove, Ballas and Vagos. Each one should be by default at 0, give another number to the gang you want to spawn (the higher the number, more gang members will spawn). Don`t put a too high number or no pedestrians will spawn. Besides, I think gang memebrs never spawn around the countryside, so putting a number in one of those territories will just reduce the number of pedestrians.

Sometimes you can take some gang members from a territory where they do spawn, but there are territories on water, and therefore you can`t take them there... confused.gif

EDIT: Sorry for the double post, I forgot I was the last one to write a post.

Territories on water aren't much of a problem: you can go on to them and shoot a piece of land nearby from a boat. But more frustrating is having to follow enemy gang members on to a patch where they don't spawn: you never seem to have 3 of them to kill. angry.gif

Is there a way to force them to spawn without cheating (i.e. via the modification of the savefile)?

I don't think they are going to answer since this thread is three years old, but I will answer you.

You can do either the fly territory glitch or the sachel charge one. The plane one will put random territories for Ballas, Vagos, and Grove Street all around the map, and it will add random density to these glitched zones to the gangs not used in gang wars (i.e. San Fierro Triads). However, it will take you a minimum of eight hours, maybe more, to get it working and some of them cannot be taken. If you play on PC, you will glitch a maximum of twelve territories. If you play on PS2, and XBox, you will get a grand total of 178 'hoods.

The charges' one is maybe the best, but might take longer since you have to wait a minimum of twenty-four minutes between the attacks. You need to put satchels' on the attackers and get to a zone you want to be Grove Street's.

If you play on PC, you can also use a Savegame Editor. There a territory, or zone, called area to modify areas controlled by the Ballas, Vagos and Grove Street.
