Digïtál £vîl
I was browsing the net and came across this article about the Game Gear. http://www.racketboy.com/retro/sega/gamege...ners-guide.html It made me start reminiscing about the good days. I remember way back when I owned this system. Had a great number of games and accessories for it and I loved this thing. My family would take a lot of road trips to extended family member's houses during parts of the year (holidays, etc) and I would always play this thing while my parent's drove us home late at night. The system was so great because it's screen lit up. While I would have liked a game boy to play my favorite Nintendo based games on it, I could never have played them much because of how often I found myself playing video games at odd hours. My parents would not allow other console systems in the house for some odd reason, so we were happy that they let us get the Game Gear. Still today, I find myself thinking back on this (not-so) little handheld and the great fun I had on it. Sonic used to be an awesome game to play. Not so much anymore, but I often wonder if I could someday dig through my parent's never opened storage to try to find the old system and see if I can get it working again. I always took great care of my electronics and I would love to play old school Sonic on the road. So anyone else own this system? Any particular games you remember about or enjoyed as a kid? Deuce Deuce
Hmm, I never actually owned the Game Gear, just the Sega itself. Do normal Sega games work on it? Also, Sonic for the f*cking win. Best game for its time. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/307053-sega-game-gear/#findComment-1057403390 Share on other sites

I even used to play old school NHL hockey on my Game Gear. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/307053-sega-game-gear/#findComment-1057403404 Share on other sites

Tryst
Wow what a coincidence, while looking for my dvd player remote today I found my old game gear. Sadly the only game that was around it was sonic, though kick ass game that was. beavis
The Game Gear so pwned the Game Boy. I remember getting one of these for Christmas a long time ago along with sonic 1 and some blackjack game. Although I didn't like the fact that you need like 8 batteries to use it unless you had an Adapter.
