although none of the trailers had any moded cars and all of them were almost the same i still believe the ability to mod cars will be in the game as well as races sly.gif

i mean ... why would they remove it ? i have always enjoyed adding nitro to my cars , picking its color and adding spoilers, skirts and rims inlove.gif , not to mention hydraulics Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif

i had to make this thread just in case rahkstar2.gif forgets about that minor but awesome feature cryani.gif

do u think they wont add car modding or remove races ? i hope not ... discuss here

*note: u can search for yourself but this is the first topic about car modding or races wink.gif

True, but yeah i just want to say i hope Car customization is in. With saints row going all out on customaztion, i think Rockstar have to have at least some elements of this. Rockstar could make this a great feature in GtaIV and not make it feel cheap the way saints row did and are going to do in their second game.

I posted yesterday asking about car modding I completely agree with you. Ill personally be a little unhappy if car mods and races arent in.

Hope it's in. In the trailer 1, you can see the Turismo will be a F430. I'll love nitroing with that beast through the bridges inlove.gif

i never bothered to mod cars, because as soon as i ever did, something would happen like the plane falling out of the sky and landing right on my new shiny car and destroying it. in general i treated cars as being pretty much disposable anyway..

me too but i always modded my taxis (the one i did the taxi missions with) and rare cars for example i always had a modded bullet or ZR-350 somewhere near, i mean NITRO is a huge advantage over others in-game

There are there may not be any specifically about racing and modding cars but there are topics where it should be discussed. and imo NO RACES NO NO MODDING THIS IS'NT f*ckING NFS OR ANYTHING OK.

Effy in Chains

I want advanced modding of cars, from nitrous, spoilers, body kits, paint jobs, rims, engine upgrades and even bullet proof windows, armour plating (hidden and visible), smoke screen, oil slick and road tack.

That would be nice..just make sure Niko's garage is locked.

Not quite on the topic but will the AI cars always catch up to you when you are being chased? like when the cops were after you they could always catch up to you and you couldnt outrun them. I always hated that.

well since you posted it here ...

yes they were really fast so what i got used to do was as soon as they are next to you , just as soon as they are getting prepared to ram u and push u off road just brake and they'll end up crashing or going off road and that was only the cops, for example in every race in SA i had a huge lead against the AI cars, most of the people who fail are the people who dont use the brakes and move really fast even when they dont have to confused.gif

I honestly think car modding is in. I also believe Rockstar north have been helped by the guys at San Diego with this particular feature. As Rockstar SD are the developers of Midnight club. I can only think how great this feature is going to be in Midnight club L.A. I'm sure R* north have had some pointers from the guys at San Diego. They also developed the Rage engine. So yeah, if this turns out to be true then expect something similar to the modification feature in MC.

I never modded a car, because of the car-eating garage glitch, that they haven't fixed in 5 games so far. If they fix the glitch, I would like to be able to mod. But if not, it doesn't matter if you can mod.

MC's modding was good (not as good as NFS:U2 or NFS:MW's but still good )

if u cud write on windshields and do all that stuff MC had then i will be very happy biggrin.gif

I like modding/Styling...

I don't need ALOT of modding or styling, just some...

Also, I think the parts upgrades should be very expensive...

And I will only mod cars if The cars tays where I parked it...

i dont understand why people are soo against car modding and racing in GTA. i mean just think about it.

the game is called GRAND THEFT AUTO which is stealing cars.

does anyone else think that being able to mod a motorcycle would be cool? like extending the frame and changing the tail pipes or something like that.

I only had one problem with car modding in San Andreas, and that was when you would blow a wad of cash to modify something, then, no sooner than you leave the garage you get sideswiped by some red-light running clunker. If Rockstar can control the road ragin' AI, I'd welcome it back.

definitely agree that the driving AI was pretty bad

especially when they would swerve lanes as you are speeding by them in the desert.

I do hope car modding is in but I also hope they keep it simple, rims, color change, lowered suspensions (coils), tinted windows and maybe bring back the subs, no need for some James Bond type sh*t. They should improve the color change option and allow us to paint the center or the lip on our rims. Nitro and body kits shouldn't return. As for Hydrolics, since Liberty is basically New-York if it were to make a comeback it should only be limited to 1 shop who carries it, the Lowrider movement isn't as prominent on the East Coast as it is on the West.

I liked car modding in San Andreas, but the way that game worked it wasn't very effective... Like all previous GTA games have just lost cars once they move off screen from you, so putting all that money and time into modding didn't make much sense (esp with how easy it is to rack up damage)... Now if GTA4 is better in that the physics of driving are more realistic and the AI is smarter (so as to not just cut you off for no reason/make a turn with no signal) then I'd say modding would work much better... ESP if you could have you're own car that you own and never loose... Maybe you might have to pay to get it out of impound or fixed up if you crash... I suppose the only way to loose a car would be to have it blow up, or sell it... In that case it would be sweet... That's why I'm hoping there are little things like turn signals in 4.... Make it more obvious what the AI's intention is... Also make traffic signals have a bit more importance.. Like if you blow a red light you might get a ticket... Or just have more pedestrians/vehicles in the intersection on a green light so if you are approaching on red it's gonna be really bloody if you just plow through... Making the traffic signals themselves more visible would help too, so you can see what colour the light is maybe a mile away instead of when you are just coming up ontop of it... These are all wishes though and I doubt any of them will be in GTA4... But meh, there's always GTA5!
