Burning Desire glitch

PS3-all-da-way

On this mission, every goes fine until i need to take denice home. As I just arrive at her house, the cut scene screen appears. As you can see my car, she gets out and goes to walk into her house, she walks to the door and then runs off. the cut scene stays on and all buttons are disabled. (apart from cheats) I spawned vehicles near my car and blew them up with destroy all cars, but my car is explosion proof icon13.gifsad.gif

The "Pedestrian Riot" cheatcode can be deactivated! Just type in "stateofemergency" and it will say Cheat Deactivated. After doing that, save your game, exit San Andreas, and reload your save file.

Does this help to pass the mission 'Burning Desire' and 'Madd Dogg'?

Apples and Oranges. There are two separate cheat codes which are commonly described with the term "riot."

1) The "riot mode" cheat ("STATEOFEMERGENCY" on PC) simply simulates the Riot section of the storyline. It can be disabled and doesn't cause aberrant mission behaviour anyway.

2) The "peds riot" or "peds attack each other" cheat ("AJLOJYQY" on PC) is what the original poster has used. This cheat permanently modifies the ped "acquaintances" behavior and its remnants persist in the save file even though its more obvious symptoms are cleared when you reload. The modifications caused by this cheat render missions such as Burning Desire impassable. On the PC version, the save file can be patched to repair the damage, but on the consoles your only alternative is to go back to a save from before the cheat was used or start fresh.

Spider-Vice, I realize there has been a lot of misinformation floating around regarding the Ped Riot cheat code, but we finally have what I believe to be a definitive answer to the problem. pdescobar and I are both very experienced save file editors. We can look in the save, see any modifications that are retained, can tell which peds have been modified and what those modification do, and can correct the problem by flipping the appropriate bits.

The Ped Riot cheat code is not the same as Peds Attack Each Other. During a Riot, you will hear roaring of the crowds, and see burning building and peds running down the streets with loot. The cars will take damage after they spawn and will eventually explode. The peds are reacting to the general state of emergency, but the interactions between peds (firemen like medics, criminals don't like cops) doesn't change.

The Peds Attack Each Other cheat code changes the ped acquaintance records so that the CivMale, CivFemale, Medic, Firemen, Dealers, and Bum hate everyone, and this information is retained in the save. So far only CivMales have been observed displaying unusual behavior outside of missions. The CivMales stationed at vending booths will attack anyone they see. We have extremely good cause and effect correlation for this cheat.

So the next obvious question is whether or not other cheat codes can produce similar changes. I'm not an experienced cheater, but I did my best to locate any cheats that might be related to peds and entered them all, first without the Peds Attack Each Other cheat to see if they produced similar results, and then with the cheat active just in case one of the other cheats was polite enough to repair the damage. No other changes were detected. This leads me to believe that the other cheats might be "safe" (at least as far as ped behavior is concerned), but I wouldn't want to make that claim based on limited testing by a really lousy cheater. If you are up for the challenge, please, try to prove us wrong.

Both "Peds Riot" and "Peds Attack Each Other" can be disabled. I tried enabling and then disabling 'em, and I did not have the bug anymore!

You are incorrect about the Peds Attack Each Other cheat. For someone who enjoys hunting glitches as much as you do, you should really be more careful with the methodology used for your tests. Re-entering the Peds Attack Each Other cheat will stop most of the peds from fighting, but not all of them. The save file still contains the same messed up records, and the vendors from the booths still attack anyone they see. (Also, I just noticed that the drug dealers seem unable to finish a transaction with the random peds that approach them. However, it looks like perhaps the ped is picking the fight.) This indicates that the glitch that is causing problems for Burning Desire, Madd Dogg, and a handful of other missions, is still in place. Disabling the cheat does the same thing as saving and reloading.

Well, that's just dumb of R* then. Cheats that are incompatibility with certain missions, and defeating the main reason for cheaters to go out and buy GameShark/Action Replay devices. Games nowadays don't usually carry built-in cheats in their games.

But when the game gets boring and I want some fun, what could I do?

Guy, why not just go and do glitches, which are more enjoyable than cheating or tricking? All you want to do is to see peds fight? Just hit a taxi driver, a cop, or a gang member and you can do the same!

And why didn't you not want to save in more than one slot as a backup? That Zelda Twilight Princess cannon room glitch wouldn't be a problem if people saved in multiple slots.
