Passing the Paramedic Mission

Not quite if it gets tougher the damage multiplier decreases if health is added the float health value actually increases both are float values however.

Maybe I should just make a Cleo script that creates a car with health set value in order to help me find that value.

I have always done this before on Portland so I'm trying for the first time to beat it in Staunton and it seems I have worst luck ever or just suck.. I get patients in cartel-area all the time, one of them was inside covered walkway which made him impossible to get to btw. Last try my ambulance got shot down only at level 5.. First poster claims it's rare to have patients there, could this be version-difference since I'm on PS4 which is basically PS2-version?

E:I finally managed to beat level 12 on Staunton with some extra careful driving and only a few guys spawning in cartel territory.

It's doable but it depends too much on luck (i.e. not getting shot at by Cartel members too much).

I don't see the problem with my use of the ghost glitch. You don't lose time really if you do it properly. It gets balanced out by the fact that you also save time by driving through walls. I might do another full demo video at some point with voiceover explains things in more detail.

Here's an older video of me performing the glitch flawlessly.

Here's how I do it (basically impossible to fail):

Is it possible to use this glitch for Vigilante missions?

If you used it on vigilante you won't be able to run the suspect over meaning you will have to do drive by shooting. Edited by crashoverride93

It's pretty difficult. It was the last thing to me left to do for 100%.

Big mistake to do it after the Yardies hate begins but not impossible. I used to use a custom route so I didn't get all shoot up by the Yardies and blown off after.

Never do it at Shoreside Vale, you'll make a hero if you pass it out.

Portland is impossible after Salvatore's menstruation begins.

Staunton is the only way.

Just don't give up on hope.

this mission becomes like a kid's game.

Yes, but at that point you've taken out any aspect of challenge in the game completely and is it really that fun or rewarding to play? If you're interested in modifying the game like that you may as well just cheat yourself the rewards and move on as you'd be saving time driving around...

It's understandable that at this point in the game missions such as Paramedic become a lot more challenging because of the increased gang hostility but it does not become impossible and with a little bit of patience and determination is still very much achievable.

I'm attempting it for first time in Shoreside Vale in this playthrough, not sure how many have been able to pull it off there without cheats or anything..

Good Luck :)

I've never completed Paramedic on Shoreside Vale before, I've only ever done it on Portland and Staunton Island. I did try it once not too long ago just out of interest but ended up not completing it. I still have an interesting time trying to navigate Shoreside during Vigilante and Firefighter now, after years of playthroughs.

Knowing I've had enough patience to complete this garbage sub-mission even if it was without any hostile gang and a frozen timer in Shoreside Vale is already an excellent reward and source of pride.

I just give you opportunities, if you're sick and tired of this job you know what to do.

I've managed to do it in Shoreside Vale in LCS, if anything.

Although, III ramps up the difficulty with the unavoidable Cartel hostility, no map, no indication of patients above or below you, less vehicle health, and maybe other things... :p

Evil empire

I made a paramedic mission in Staunton with the hostile yardies once and failed very close to the end by the way.

This mission is so boring I don't see the point of doing it with the risk to fail, it looks more like masochism than anything else.

Oh, finally! I passed this mission after ca. 30 bad tries. A week ago I was very upset :sui: , found this guide and decided to pass the mission in Staunton, but there was a problem: I do not know Staunton at all. And that meant I must firstly discover it. Plenty of time! That is why I’ve kept trying in Portland. And I've done it! And once again :pp .

The key was - NOT to try to pick up patients in groups of three at any cost. Better to be more flexible. Group of 3 is the best variant. But it’s also okay to take only 2 patients at one time and take them to the hospital, if they are near to each other but quite a distance from other patients.

25 sec for one plus 25 sec for the second = ca 1 minute limit or even more. Enough to return to the Hospital, set out both patients and then reach the next patient. The alone standing patients can be the cause of failure, because you get only 25 sec bonus time for him or her. Only just to reach Hospital. But no more time to pick up the next group of patients after the hospital. So if there are for example 12 patients, who stand in groups of two, it is sometimes better to make 6 trips instead of 4, and so you will have enough time for carefully driving and even small mistakes.

Bump!!

Skimmed through this thread it's the ADHD in me. Can't complete this mission if my life depended on it. Some of you guys say finish it on Staunton island. Does the cartel attack you when you first enter Staunton island, or does happen gradually over time. I am on the 1st island. Man has this been difficult; can't make it to level 12. They won't give me enough time its ridiculous.

Yes, the Cartel attack you from the very beginning. Portland is still the best place (in the beginning of the game). Not only that there won't be an gangsters shooting at you but also the layout of the roads is very good. Just take your time, don't get angry and keep practicing. Once you reach something like level 6 it becomes easier because you'll have more patients spawn close to each other (especially in Saint Marks) which makes it easy and quick to collect the first full ambulance and get a bonus.

If you turn the siren on it may become even easier because the cars will clear the way. And don't forget to use the handbreak when taking sharp turns.

I just passed it a few minutes ago on the mobile version in first try (second try if you count a failed attempt I've had a few days ago). It wasn't as bad as I expected but I had some minor unfortunate events during some of the levels such as the ambulance nearly rolling, crashing a few times into some cars, one of trucks ran over a patient (thankfully didn't kill him but got him stuck under the truck for a few seconds) and almost made the time ran out and it happened at level 11 at last patient remaining which was really annoying but the patient got up in last couple of seconds.

The time limit is of course the main problem when you do it in Portland and sure it does get tight in some of the levels (thankfully I've had 24-25 seconds per patient in most of the levels, but even then there are times when you need to hurry up to pick up a certain patient or risk running out of time) and there are some times you will complete a level with only few seconds remaining on the clock (if you are lucky maybe 20-30 seconds remaining) but hopefully you will make it in the end. Of course it is luck based on how the patients spawn (hopefully not into stupid places like the basketball court and the alley behind the Ammunation, both of which happened on a previous failed attempt a few days ago) and the amount of time received per patient.

But yeah in my opinion you should try it in Portland as no gangs hate you (if you do it at very beginning of the game, like I did), patients spawn close to each other in most cases and the mission can be completed in about 40 minutes. Just take your time and you will eventually succeed in the end. Hope this helps!

Oh and here is the save game I just uploaded a few minutes ago, it's for Android version only but it will help people who can't pass this mission if they happen to also play on Android:

http://gtasnp.com/j9lhkd

The only thing to note is that I have already done pretty much everything that could be done in Portland at beginning of the game and I hope this won't disappoint people who just want Paramedic mission done and nothing else. I've actually had done in 2015 a Paramedic mission completed only save for PC but that save is long gone and its link on SNP has also expired, so this is the only option for people who have the mobile version of GTA 3 and even then only for Android phones. Hope this helps!

I have done 2 paramedic starter saves long time ago which were uploaded on gtagarage:

http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=27773

There are 2 files - one for Android and another for PC. I've done nothing but the Paramedic missions so you have everything else to complete on your own :)

The Mysterious One

So I am out of Portland and now on Staunton Island. I don't know if I made the right decision, but I guess it would have been better to do this before the Triads got hostile with me and nobody hates me yet on Staunton...until I read a post about the Cartel running certain areas, which made me feel like "damn." I just won't do the Yardies missions until after I do the paramedic missions, or at least not do "Kingdom Come" when after that, they start shooting at me.

Gotta disagree on using the sirens, it makes the traffic even less predictable, and cars running over patients while trying to get out of your way does happen.

yes, you are right. Sometimes it makes it worse. You just have to know when to use them, sometimes they might be helpful.

I`m sorry for the off-topic reply but it seems I can`t find any information about the pause time glitch. :p Could you give me some instructions?

EDIT: Nevermind I just found it in the cheat/tricks section of the forums, the only place I didn`t look at :p

I took a look at the Tips/Tricks and the Cheats section, but I didn't find anything about this. Does anyone have an answer? I couldn't find anything about this on forums or even the wiki. If it's somewhat similar to the time-limit freezing glitch in San Andreas, for the NRG Challenge, where you have to drive into a marker at the perfect time, but with patients in Paramedic in GTA III, then that would be horrible. I already had a tough time with the NRG Challenge's glitch.

Yeah, see...That is the problem. It's the time running out. It's not running over patients, it's not damaging the Ambulance too much, it's the stupid time limit that Rockstar decided to give you such a low amount of time even when you pick up patients it bearly goes up.

I wouldn't give up, though. It's bound to happen one day, and when you pass it you'll feel great as you basically succeeded in something that is in the top 5 hardest things in GTA History.

GTA III Paramedics

GTA III Rampages (Only a handful of them)

GTA SA Mission for Zero Called "Supply Lines..."

Everything I listed is probably the hardest things you EVER find in a GTA game. Nothing else compares to these things above.

Supply Lines is considered one of the hardest things in GTA? I beat it in one attempt, and didn't find it terribly difficult... I did it with the terrible PC Flying Controls too. Hmm..

I believe completing paramedic in Shoreside Vale in III is one of the hardest things on all GTA-games, I might try it when I start playing the game again but not expecting to make it. Have done it on the other islands before and Staunton was already pushing it.

I used the Wayback Machine to search through these forums around the time the guy went to the "Cheats/Tricks" section and "found the pause time glitch." I found 2 threads in all 7 pages that were remotely close to this topic, and the best either of them came up with were: Cheats, Trainers (Not sure what that is), or the thing I mentioned where maybe it'll glitch out if you deliver a patient with exactly 0 seconds left. Is there really not a better method than that? What could Calavera have possibly found in the section that I didn't?

The two articles I found which were somewhat similar to the question I'm asking:

Paramedic Mission

How can I make the time-limit 1:59 into 99:99

Here's a guaranteed strategy to passing GTA III paramedic mission on PC no matter how far you have progressed in the story. This can be done in any island (preferably Staunton Island because of its easily maneuverable streets and generous time given per patient rescued). Word of warning, if you are a purist in completing the game without any gimmicks or are playing a port other than the PC, please look away now.

1. Go to your GTA III's game file directory.

2. For me, having the steam version, my directory was as follows... (Program Files x86 > Steam > steamapps > common > Grand Theft Auto 3 > data)

3. Look for the file named "pedstats.dat" and open it through notepad.

4. This file lets you set the aggressiveness for each character encountered in the game through free-roaming. You're going to want to reset the value under column D with the value of 100 for character title from STAT_GANG1 to STAT_GANG7.

5. Changing this value will make it so no gangs will shoot at you as you attempt the most frustrating mission in the entire game.

6. Save the file and feel free to boot up the game. If you'd like to reset to the default values after passing the paramedic missions, go through the same steps as before and change the corresponding values back to 20.

7. Fire up that ambulance for one last hurrah and drive as if your mother's cousin's niece's grandma's dog depended on it.

8. Driving in Staunton Island will give you more than enough time to drive super carefully.

9. As you drive the final group of patients into the mission marker, close your eyes and whisper "for Kobe."

10. Thanks for attending my Ted Talk.
