Girish
And the computer will still read the stuff on the previous partition? Yes, when the OS will be installed. Better still, if you don't want any backup hassles, try using the 'Repair Windows' option. That way, only your system files will be re-copied and none of your other data will be lost. But if it doesn't help your cause, you'll have to go for a fresh install.
adstone1237
Ok, where would I find this Repair Windows function? I also asked my teacher if I could borrow one of his OS disks but he unfortunately said no. So now I'm stuck with no OS disk to use. I also asked my teacher if I could borrow one of his OS disks but he unfortunately said no. I could lend you mine, but you stay too far. So, I guess you'll have to buy. As for repairing, when you boot from the XP disc, it gives you 2 options: Press 'ESC' to continue with a fresh installation. or Press 'R' to repair an existing installation. You press 'R' and the repairing starts.
adstone1237
I want to try to avoid buying a new one as much as possible. I'll just keep on trying to contact the guy who has our disk and also purchase CCleaners.
derty
Huh.. SA doesn't work with 32MB.Upgrade your PC. Yes it does. You should stop posting in the SA troublshooting topic, you look like an idiot every other post. It may not meet the minimum req but it DOES work, and maybe you don't remember because you haven't been around long enough to know more than "delete da .set yo" but Jacob fixed a crash that had to do with entering advanced settings on 32mb cards, and rockstar later fixed it in v1.1 NOT ALL crash, too. GTASA does work on 32MB, but it probably wont work well on this integrated slop. now, your second partition is probably a restore partition. Stop listening to any advice in here, it's not going to help you dude. WHY would you install a mirror OS?! I don't even know where to start.... But I will finish with this: If you NEED an OS disc, it is LEGAL for you to obtain one by any means necessary as long as you OWN the numbers for it. AND, it is NOT legal to download GTASA. You are experiencing another form of a cyclic redundancy check. You musta "burned too fast" and your buddy must have a nicer computer with a better laser in it. So, in short, you won't get this problem fixed here, m8, it's not a bug or troubleshooting issue, it's a side effect of piracy. Don't fight me about this... Unless you can show a picture of yourself, dated, holding your receipt of sale and the box and the real DVD of GTASA, then just take the best advice thus far and Buy the Game. If you prove you legally own this game, I will sh*t on command. CCleaner is free. Edited January 29, 2008 by derty
Bad~Boy#17
derty, in-light us and tell him the answer to his problem and not attacking SA BMX32 no, I bought the game LEGALLY at EB Games or GameStop in the US. derty
derty, in-light us and tell him the answer to his problem and not attacking SA BMX32 no, I bought the game LEGALLY at EB Games or GameStop in the US. Where in this sentence do you see "I've downloaded a pirated copy of the game" Well, I like SA BMX, don't get me wrong. That's why I pointed it out instead of just watching it be done to the self in mention. There is some enlightening info in your quote: The absence of surety. How do you forget which of two totally different stores you bought the game from? Again, this is another form of a cyclic redundancy check, if the disc is not scratched, and works on some but not all computers, then it is a shifty CRC and comes from bad data reproduction (IE: burnt it too fast for his PC's internal bandwidth and disc laser). Fix the problem? Ok, this will fix the problem if it is a legal copy of the game: Copy ALL the DVD contents to a folder on the hard drive, run the installer from there. If it throws an error during the copy process, you fail! sorry. But if it DOES work, keep your DVDs clean and don't let them get scratched! Some DVD players read better than others, so if you have scratches... Edited January 29, 2008 by derty
adstone1237
If you want proof that this IS a legal copy of the game, here it is. You're lucky I have a scanner. And by the way, I NEVER lie. You're a little foolish to think I would. And if you think I just bought the game because this was posted two days after your post, think again. Look at the reciept. It says that the game was puchased on Jan. 8. As for your solution, it failed. An error popped up and said, "Cannot paste files: cannot read source file or disk." So now, I'm clueless. What should I do since this didn't work? Buy a new computer? a new DVD drive? Come on! Throw a solution at me! I don't care! If you think it will fix my problem, POST IT!! EDIT: I only metioned those 2 stores for those who needed a U.S. reference. I know they're affiliated, and I bought it from EB Games. Also, my disk is scratched, I'll try fixing it. adstone1237
I saw it on a site called Mega Games forum as I was searching for the file audio/STREAMS/AA in the hopes of putting it on the disk. The guy had the same problem as me, and this is what he said: "I Just Bought This Game And Came Home, Went To Install It And About 3/4 The Way Through With Install It Pops Up And Says Please Insert Disk 3 Audio\streams\aa File Missing Well I Tried To Check The File My Self And The Streams Folder Is Empty So I Took The Game Back And Got A New One Came Home Again And It Does It Again And It Is Empty Again Can Some One Help I Need These Files I Can Not Finish The Install Thanks"
Spider-Vice
Well, buy a new CD or change that with other if it is on its warranty. GTANet | Red Dead Network | black lives matter | stop Asian hate | trans lives = human lives
adstone1237
Well, there's my dispute: If I take take the game back, will it fix my problem? Or will I end up like the guy I mentioned? And also, If it worked at my friend's place, is the game disk really at fault or is it my DVD player to blame? Now, keep in mind that my computer's inability to find the file audio/STREAMS/AA isn't my only problem. Currently, my computer restarts halfway through installation, won't uninstall due to some error, and won't load when I click on the shortcut. Now those new errors all started occuring after I installed my new video card, which, by the way, was a 128MB Nvidia GeForce 6200 LE. adstone1237
I think I have a solution. when it told me that it couldn't find the file audio/STREAMS/AA, it gave me paths in which to look for it on my computer. If I download the missing file, I can search for it and it can continue the installation! It's so simple! Damn I'm an idiot for not thinking of that earlier! Well, my problem's almost solved, I just can't explain the current problems that are happening, e.g. restarting during installation. Does anybody know why it could be doing this? EDIT: I took out my new video card, I tried reinstalling the game and the computer didn't restart during the installation! The uninstallation error still occurs, but at least I can reach my initial problem! I also used CD Check and there IS something wrong with my disk. Please, please respond! I really need your help!
