Otter
Curved screen, actually. Has anyone ever had any good experiences with head tracking? Is there anything that's compatible with today's games, like Crysis, Bioshock, or Call of Duty 4?
Picolini
I've never seen anything like that, but a guy at work was talking about it. I guess people are making a bunch of "hacks" with the Wii remotes, such as head tracking and sh*t like that. Sounds really cool. I saw a guy that made IR gloves than allowed you to pretty much have two cursors. It wasn't a Wii mod as far as I know, but it was bad ass. You could grab pictures on the screen, move them around with both hands, resize them iTouch style, very very cool.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Wii went that way, or at least if Nintendo went that way, potentially a Wii sequel or even just a new controller. With this method, you could make your hands into a gun and use that. I know that'd give me a good laugh and draw me in more than a remote, as revolutionary as it is. Gouveia
God thats big. The problem being, that from those side shots it doesn't look very thin, which could be a problem for the common 42 person dining table... 2,880 x 900 is an insane resolution. Indeed. That's awesome, now I want to see a 360º Monitor
Neal40000
well first of all your gona need two 8600+ nvidia's in SLi just to project smmt on that probably, now to play game your gona need one beefy PC, (quad core duo, SLi 8800's, alot of RAM and all the other shizle, this really is an expensive screen. probably over £3000 ($6,000). but hell its amazing.. matthew1g
they are alienware after all. but I don't think any card can handle games at those resolutions, especially crysis regardless of SLi or not. they either were playing it at 1 frame every 5 seconds, or had it to the lowest possible and played at the highest res. Or they have a secret crysis killer card
Picolini
2,880 x 900 isn't higher than even an 8600GT's rating which is 2560 x 1600 (2,592,000 vs 4,096,000). In fact, as you can see, it's just over half as many pixels as an 8600GT can handle. So an 8800GT, GTS, GTX, etc should do fine, alone. I would assume so at least. If you had 4GB RAM, and a higher end Core 2 Duo, I'm sure it'd play the game fine.
matthew1g
well with my setup, with everything set to very high- DX10 enabled and such, I only get 25-40 FPS at a 1024x768 resolution. Anything higher than that and the game starts to lag. I can't see how they're playing it at that res.
Otter
I blame Vista for that more than I blame Crysis. In XP, with the "dx 10" hacks, I score a solid 40fps. I play at 1600 x 1050. Sure, I'm clocking up my GTS, but not by much. Without anti-aliasing, Crysis scales up resolution quite well.
Picolini
Hmm, ok well maybe Crysis would take a hit on the card, but most games probably wouldn't be too hurt by that res. The one thing I like about a big single monitor like that is you've got tons of desktop space, and you can use SLi mode, unlike dual/triple/quad/etc monitor set ups. It'd be nice if you could section parts of the screen off too, since it's basically 4 screens together. Like you could maximize programs in every 1/4 of the screen. It'd be very useful. TheRoper
In terms of immersive gaming, I think this is way cooler:http://www.moddb.com/news/25266/wii-modding-the-future Seriously, just read/watch it. THAT IS SO F*CKING RAD! @topic: Meh, kinda beefy, but a cool idea I guess. I'm concerned about this part though: However, the site did say that 'three faint vertical dividing lines appeared to indicate four sub-panels making up this screen.' You can actually see the dividing lines in the first pic: Still, it's got potential I s'pose. $$$ MAKE MONEY WITH NEOBUX $$H
