uzi 9mm
Who thinks TCP should be in GTA 4 in some way? TCP is the button pressing you have to do quickly like in Shenmue. I think it worked well on minigames like arm wrestling and other things. You could have alcohol drinking contests and a you drink mre you have to press buttons quickly to stay upwright and avoid collapsing. A lot of certain things had the fun taken out of them like chases where you had to press bttons at the rigt moment to jump obstacles or balance across thin platforms, it is good in Shenmue but these types of things in GTA should still be manually controlled, I just think a lot of other stuff like minigames and maybe some things in the storymode would be done well with TCP. PS. TCP is the name I think it's called but I ain't too sure. I can't be bothered to check it up. It's 70% likely to be called something different. spursfan111
Personally I think that is a crap feature for games like Uncharted: Drakes fortune and Lara croft. Once you master this it is really easy and boring. Drinking contests don't really fit Niko's character he's a more serious type of guy. uzi 9mm
I don't really think he that serious. In the 3rd trailer you see him laughing and joking a few times so there is a funny side to him, he's a GTA character, so has to be a comedian of some sort... as well as a murderer. All humans know how to laugh and joke. I meant Niko was serious in the way that he pursues the American dream. He doesn't have time to get hammered, and anyway stop going of topic the topic is titled "TPC in GTA 4" not "Niko possible comedian" Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/306255-tcp-in-gta-4/#findComment-1057385628 Share on other sites

KillerKabel
Is it that thing where you smash your thumb 47 times into a button untill the gauge is full? Like the gym thingy in SA... I broke a controller just doing that... Seriously... I don't think that what it is. Its like when something in you're game as happening like Lara Croft, there is a dinosaur trying to eat here and a might come up and if you press the quick enough she does some cool move and it doesn't eat her, but if you're to slow you die and have to start again. Oblivionz
I think what he means by this is the system in God Of War where you have to press a combination of buttons for certain situations. That system is only good for certain games, and it would never work in a GTA game. Oldsmobile
Somebody mentioned the button-mashing thing in relation to drinking contests, and how such a contest wouldn't suit Niko? Well, I could see Nike easily engaging in a drinking contest. Rockstar has confirmed that you'll be able to hang out with and play mini-games (such as pool) with certain NPCs. Would it be so unrealistic for Niko and one of his buddies to engage in a friendly drinking contest? I think not. Hehe, I like that part. I think that was obvious to most... but I would suggest sticking to a thread's topic. They are locked due to wandering way OT! BTW I would say humor is a mandatory element in GTA. The trick to the gym missions, which we are pretty sure won't return in this round, and I do this in Uncharted as well, is practice a light touch when tapping a D pad. There is no real need to press them as hard as you can. The only time that function comes into play with new generation controllers (ones that sense light or heavy taps) is when driving and the use of acceleration. Personally I think that is a crap feature for games like Uncharted: Drakes fortune and Lara croft. Once you master this it is really easy and boring. Drinking contests don't really fit Niko's character he's a more serious type of guy. You're referring to quick response press in Uncharted to avoid falling off balconies or being crushed (...as well as opening gated passages, now that I recall rapid presses)? Recall the suspension bridge collapse a'la Indy Jones. During the first play thru I expected some sort of button or joystick work but it was all cutscene... that is more disappointing to me! GZA36
Shemnue was a f*cking amazing game, I and II proper long and interesting game. Do you know when the third one's coming out? On topic: Yeah that would be a good idea but only on side missions like in SA with the dancing and the Lowrider contests that's TCP so i dont see why not. GANGSTA_GRILLZ
as long as however they put it in the game its relevant. that dancing wuz bullsh*t in SA. but if they did it something like heavenly sword it might work. GZA36
Yeah it was one of the more pointless mini-games in SA, I've always wanted to get stoned on a GTA game, just randomly. I think it'd be funny. nattog
if you are referring to the half ass 'Simon' type of button pressing mini game that Ubisoft seems to feel the need to throw into the majority of their god awful videogames, then absolutely not, i hate that sh*t with a passion. Typhus
Just like racing missions, timed missions and dance missions, missions in which you win by pressing a button very quickly are terrible. Keep that out of the game entirely. There's no point in it. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/306255-tcp-in-gta-4/#findComment-1057388176 Share on other sites

I think it'd be funny. Probably never happen. Not me, but the boomshine missions with partial driving control were really well done and could be used in that manner. You know the fighting commands for hand to hand in Uncharted? That actually still works without being spot-on and I like that fact. Can anyone define TCP for me??
