Those were my favorite, good sh*te. And you said you used film? Regardless, I think digital has a long way to go if at all to compete with good film. There's just a warmth and depth to it, motion pictures are the same if not worse. Movies made with even great digital cams just pale in comparison with film in my opinion.

Thanks, They are some of my favorites too. biggrin.gif

I totally agree with what you say about digital and film, film kicks digital in my opinion, however digital is easier if your really not bothered and just want photo's of days out and such.

Both are great in their own ways...But I definately prefer film. Thanks for commenting! biggrin.gif

Just a little Piccy I took today, I did a little tweeking with the RAW file to sharpen it up a little and enhance the colours to take out the coldness, but in a way I'm still getting used to this thing.

How about keeping this topic to snapshots, then open a topic if you think your new set of photos worths it.

On another forum I visit they have a "Photo of the Day" thread... basically you post one photo per day. Keeps it nice and active because there's people adding new photos daily.

Maybe this thread could turn in to that, and if anyone had a set of images they wanted to post at once they could make a separate thread tounge.gif

EDIT

@Pap: It was taken in Tommorrows World...We thought Resistance would be a fitting subject. tounge.gif

So I'm really wanting a telephoto lens, 55mm is just not enough to get in those tight shots I want...

Of course, with all the other sh*t I buy, I'm kinda on a budget here. The best lens I can find is the Tamron 55-200mm lens. It seems to have some great reviews on it, mainly that it's got exceptional image quality for it's price range and the distortion at the extremes are well with in tolerance.

Any one have any input on this lens? Or even a Tamron for that matter?

Btw, I'd be getting one for a Canon Rebel XT which is sadly more expensive than the ones for Nikon's, putting it at around $180.

@BCspeed, looks nice. I'm guessing it's behind glass? I can see some reflection there.

I know many people use Tamron, alltough i don't own one myself, but by looking at the reviews, you probably won't regret getting one!

You'll love the extra reach!

@maddog, good to hear. Thanks icon14.gif

@Dr. Pay'n spray, I like the BMW one most, although it would have been nicer if the shot wasn't so tight. Some extra space around it so you had the whole emblem in the shot would have framed it nicely. And the middle, Benz picture would have been better with the focus on the Benz logo, imo.

Nice close up raresh.

@Zak, the link that guy sends you to is for a Sigma camera mount, not a Canon. I'd make sure what his is before getting it.

These guys tend to be a little more easy on lens than others (gives them better reviews than some places, over all) but I like how they describe lenses.

Reading just the last paragraph, sounds like a pretty good deal.

An HDR of Las Vegas Strip

And a Panoramic of Las Vegas taken from the Eiffell Tower, Paris, Las Vegas Casino. A little Choppy in parts and a little squint, but I might try and work on that a little.

Also does anyone know of any good Hosts that let you host large pictures for Free, as in 2-5Mb or even upto 10Mb+

Also @ToC: That Cactus shot was from Southern Arizona

Nice pics Gareth. The panorama is pretty good, like you said it does get choppy at some transitions, particularly near the right side. Still pretty good though icon14.gif

The HDR one is cool. Of course I haven't seen the original but I'm wondering if a picture like that would benefit from HDR work.

And you can upload jpg, gif, and png's up here Thanks to STM, and I'm pretty sure you can post them with IMG tags, it should work. But, of course there's no thumbnails. And most likely if it's 2-10MB's it'd be a huge friggin picture and you might want to post thumbs instead of the image itself, but you could always just post the link.

The HDR one, really did look better for having it done, there was a lot of 'noise' on it so the HDR made it look better, plus when you have fancy lights like that, it looks better in my opinion.

Also thanks for the link, but after I upload it, it just says "Wating for http://tjbp.net/upload/" and doesn't go any further (and I left it for at least 20 minutes, just in case 8.5Mb was a bit much for it, I'll maybe speak to STM about that.
