Who pulled off the nice image of the Moon and Stars? Im looking around for some tips on that. Ive yet to work out how to get the surrounding stars into the shot. It looks amazing.

Any help?

If so, I just focused on the moon, and did a long exposure. Thing is, that was during the eclipse. If you take a picture of the moon under normal conditions, normal exposure times should be used. Anything too slow and the moon will start to glow and lose detail. It's because it's illuminated directly by the sun, so it's basically like taking a picture of something during the day. I couldn't give you any tips on taking it under regular conditions. I would probably take a normal exposure, then a long exposure, and chop the two pictures together... that'd probably be the only way with out special filters or something.

The last one is particularly nice, WhoooMan. Kind of eerie looking.

Yeah, it sure do... I wasn't expecting that at all. tounge.gif

Got a Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM with a polarizer filter today, great lens, and the filter makes for some great colours!

Nice picture, I love the composition, and the color is great, some nice variations of blue in there.

I bought a cheap-o-polarizer, have yet to be able to test it out yet. No good weather... hopefully I'll get some deeper skies with it.

So I'm repainting my room, and I've got a bunch of prints I want to make to hang up. These are some I want group together, but I'm not sure how or if all of them are completely cohesive. I was thinking about mounting them on individual pieces of foamcore and then maybe mounting them together on long piece of wood, or just framing them all, or building a long frame (or maybe a tall one?) and putting them all together. Any ideas? These are all 8x5, maybe I should cut them down, but using the same ratio even? Should I even put all of them together, or just group two or even just hang up one?

This is the first time I've actually posted any of my photograhs. I am not a professional, nor do I have anything near a professional camera. These are of a Lake in France:

I use my mobile phone for pictures, and downsize them (The resolution is bigger than my monitor resolution).

Think you're cool or something sunny? Back in my day we used the I, not the II, paid the same amount if not more, several months before the announcement of the II, and we were content with the I. Your lense is still in perfect condition, which in my opinion isn't worth jack. Don't bother PMing me for offers for my slightly used lense.

Either that, or imitation is the finest form of flattery, you even got a circular polarizer on yours which is just a hoot to purchase because the 77mm threading is so common and so cheap. Just tell me that you have a UV/Haze filter on yours and I will attack you in a few months when you visit NYC. Good day.

@disco: Nice panorama. The right side seems hazy, or is it just me?

Digïtál £vîl

My girlfriend is a big sports fan and she really enjoys going to baseball games and wants to get into sports photography. Her little 300 dollar canon or whatever broke and she is considering buying a much better camera. All she knows is she wants one with a decent zoom lens. She or I don't know too much about cameras. I was into photography a while back when I was in middle school and high school, used an old camera of my dads for a while to take photos, but I haven't read up on it in a while.

She wants to shop around for something and I figured I would ask you guys on here what you would recommend for someone just getting into it. We go to a lot of baseball games and so I'm assuming she wants something that can handle that sport the best. High speed with a decent zoom, I guess.

So what would you recommend?

Let me know if this isn't the right place and I will make a topic for it.
