CraniumSA
I recently got ahold of a mod called RealFX, fixes some stuff up nicely, cept theres way too many people and cars now. To fix this i know its in the Stream.INI file, but id like to know exactly what does what and how i can adjust it. Is there any information somewhere on what hooks and values are valid and what they do in stream.INI? This is the stream.ini from RealFX memory 270000 devkit_memory 270000 vehicles 120 peds 120 people 120 pe_lightchangerate 0.0005 pe_lightingbasecap 0.38 pe_lightingbasemult 0.53 pe_leftx 120 pe_topy 120 pe_rightx 120 pe_bottomy 120 dontbuildpaths Old stream.ini memory 13500 devkit_memory 13500 vehicles 12 pe_lightchangerate 0.0005 pe_lightingbasecap 0.35 pe_lightingbasemult 0.5 pe_leftx 16 pe_topy 16 pe_rightx 16 pe_bottomy 16 dontbuildpaths Obviously some new hooks and values in the RealFX one. derty
This is up for discussion because when SA first came out, we all figured here that stream.ini doesnt do anything... Like, it has valid settings and stuff, but that isn't the actual file that controls them in the game's built state. a development orphan. Maybe more is known now though, perhaps someone has found a file that it connects to. The values that would be useful to you are obvious, and can you show a screen shot that shows what this mod did and tell if there were more files?? -derty Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/305850-fixups/?do=findComment&comment=1057378173 Share on other sites

It claims to improve the apearancve of a few things like the cars and water, it noticably increases pedestrian and trafic congestion and the police are a little more agressive. It also synchs the day and night schedule, when its night, it is truly night in SA with this mod. What made me download it is cause it fixes the rain and storm audio glitch with an altered eax.dll More info here Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/305850-fixups/?do=findComment&comment=1057378514 Share on other sites
Sacky
stream.ini doesn't actually do anything by itself because its settings are overwritten within the game, however all I have to do is overwrite the overwrites , which is what I do in SA Limit Adjuster (for vehicles and memory). It's also interesting to note that memory and devkit memory are the same thing. DexX
stream.ini doesn't actually do anything by itself because its settings are overwritten within the game, however all I have to do is overwrite the overwrites , which is what I do in SA Limit Adjuster (for vehicles and memory). It's also interesting to note that memory and devkit memory are the same thing. It's also interesting that there is no "Peds" or "People" section in the original ini file, nor is there any provision for such entries defined in the exe. A quick poke in the eax.dll doesn't seem to indicate usage of these entries either. The included pedgrp.dat and popcycle.dat files would affect local populations, but the extra additions to the ini file seem pointless. CraniumSA
Is there any standalone fixes or workarounds for the sound cutting out during rain and thunder ? i tried the eax.dll alone and it doesnt do a thing. I suspect it works in conjunction with memory tweeks etc applied in the mod. The RealFX mod has one major bug that i noticed... with the people count modifications it spawns groups of rival gangs everywhere, i spent 10 minutes shooting ballas and vagos in central canton yesterday before they wasted me. derty
v1.01 patch for SA fixes the bug. - Issue on all machines where certain collisions caused parts of the audio system to crash (sound effects, cutscene audio - only radio keeps going) - users know this as "Rain / Thunderstorm bug". from DexX sig: v1.01 official patch Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/305850-fixups/?do=findComment&comment=1057380072 Share on other sites

SteaVor
It's not necessarily your setup - the patch didn't fix the audio bugs for me either (which would've been surprising because the pre-patch workaround relied on a different EAX.dll while patch 1.01 didn't change anything but the EXE).
