Phil112 Posted January 3, 2008 Share Posted January 3, 2008 The last time Rockstar had any official "Add-ons" to a GTA game it was the mission packs which added extra missions in London to the first GTA game. Now they - in conjunction with Microsoft - are releasing some more after the games release. So, how about the add-ons they add this time are like the add-ons they did before in 1999, as in, they add London. Obviously it probably won't be a full scale London, it will probably only be a scaled down version, but still... __________ What I can hope can't I? Possibly a couple new cars, a couple new weapons, a couple new clothing sets, i dont envision much more. Thinka bout how many customers they lose if they give 360 a whole new map. Anyway, it will most likely be missions, cars, and maybe just some new guns. The reason it's worth 50 million to microsoft is not be the actual contents of the package... it's worth it because they can do these announcements.... EXCLUSIVE DLC for Xbox... no PS3... Untill the actual DLC comes out, it will make xbox360 look like the better option of you want to play GTA, so a lot of people that waited to go next-gen for GTAIV, will now automatically look for xbox360, even though the PS has always been the weapon of choice for GTA fans. They probably earned their 50 million back already of hardware sales this christmas. And before you all start slamming me for this. It's not even that far fetched. Microsoft has been applying this business tactic to it's competition with Apple for years. And it works. You see, every time they announce a new version of Windows, well in advance of course, they announce revolutionary features that are years ahead of what we've seen uptill then. What this does, is that it makes buyers wait for what microsoft is going to do, instead of looking what other companies offer. Apple's technology is always better than Microsofts, but it can never be as good as what Microsoft has in the pipeline, so we stick with Microsoft. In the end, when we finally get windows 98, or XP, or Vista..it's only a marginal improvement on the old version with a new user shell and bullsh*t functionality. The truly revolutionary stuff has somehow vaporised. So, what i'm saying is... rockstar could bundle some new leather jackets and country/western shirts for Niko and Roman... and Microsoft still has their money's worth. Don't believe the hype... EPIC... hah... we'll wait and see... oh yeah.. .i don't take sides in any console war. Owning an xbox doesn't make me love Microsoft all of a sudden, and I know for fact Sony is just as shady as MS. And also, I didn't buy a Xbox because of all the "Epic GTA DLC" bullsh*t, but because I want to play it and didn't have money to go for my true choice, the PS3. CookPassBabtridge Posted January 3, 2008 Share Posted January 3, 2008 There is an article from a while ago (I cant be arsed to find at the mo) where a Take2 rep or similar discussed the DLC stuff. Its going to be extended storylines and missions etc, rather than just extra items/ mods. I hope these episodes are released on disc at some point (which I know defeats the object of downloadable content), I dont want the cost of getting my 360 online just for that.
