Should Rockstar bring back video game pornography?

Recommended Posts

Yes they should...but not now.

Wait a few years until they've got the money to push those moronic politicians, who think everybody who play videogames are 5 years old, into court for censoring freedom of expression.

Hows that for a wish?

Like anybody would have the balls to do something like that though... sad.gif

I agree with the above posts.

It shouldn't be BLATANT porn. But rather something to incorporate into the story line. The main character could fall for a woman, and they'd put in a sex scene to express the passion between the two.

Whats wrong with that?

R* could not make an AO game...

Sony and Microsoft will not allow it to be played on their systems.

So no I don't think they should "bring back pornography", and I'm convinced they won't.

QFT. Given that that an AO rating means that he game is inadvertently banned, it's just not going to happen any time soon. If it were the case that Microsoft and Sony actually allowed AO games for their consoles, then I'm sure plenty of developers would have long since leapt at the oppurtunity to make an AO game. Sadly, corporations believe that consumers think the world isn't ready too see sex presented in this form of entertainment, even when it's done in a hilarious and satirical manner as in GTA.

If the ESRB knew 'hot coffee' was in SA it would of never even been released. The games go threw a lot of 'red tape' before being published.

It'd be cool to have though. It's the same with stuff like cracking into virtual computer networks in games, it'll never make it to the shelf through commercial publishing if it's too detailed.

I'm no expert, I just tend to pay attention to protocol. The ESRB has priority based morals.

Who cares about nudity!

I rather have a mature game than some porno-freak ADULT game that I wouldnt even be able to buy damnit!

Evidently a lot of people. It's even more profitable that a open play AI game like GTA.

There are only like 5-6 games that are based around simulated sex for PC, and the authoring studios are raking in Google level profits off single titles. Most of them are buy independent developers too with just ok graphic quality.

You nailed it right on the head there.

I just wish people had more balls to stand up and say to the powers that be "Hold on, censorship is bullsh*t. If you don't like to see something, then DON'T PLAY IT and DON'T LET YOUR KIDS PLAY IT."

Why ruin it for the rest of us who are mature enough to play a game like gta and NOT go on a killing spree as Jack Thompson would have you believe?

The "powers that be" is over half the game development industry, and almost all retailers and censoring authorities. Sex isn't the only thing they refuse to put in games ether.

Schools like Full Sail actually have ethics classes that mention the taboos of the industry like they're the equivalent to street level crime.

Why watch a bunch of fake people have sex, that doesn't even look real.

You can search hentai if you want that sh*t.

Rockstar aren't stupid. Why do you think they cut the 'hot coffee' from SA?

It was most likely there for a little laugh, but then they actually thought about it. Look where it got them. A huge law suit agains't them.
