visionist
This is probably going to get flamed to Hell and back but I was wondering about the Hunter's cannon aiming system. In the Apache gunship on which the Hunter is based the undernose 30mm is slaved to the pilot's helmet sight. Where he looks, the gun points. Anybody willing to bet that with the new Hunter, assuming there will be one, the gun will follow the camera? This will be more realistic as well as making shooting around easier as you don't need to rotate the whole chopper. Your thoughts?
Kelao
That would be great, I always hated having to tilt my helicopter towards my target in order to shoot. It was very inaccurate.
ceedot
There should be an aimer, where you could use the R3 button to aim. I hated the Hunders aiming, especially since you move and the camera moves as well, but too much, so you have no idea where your shooting. EDIT: I think there was an auto aimer on the Hunter actually, where say you were doing a vigilante mission, it would aim at the car you were chasing if you were close enough. Eljan81
Well, personally I don't think that would be a great way to fly. I depend on being able to detect my position. The thing is (and I don't know about the Xbox folks) the L2/R2 buttons used for flying aren't the same as doing drive-bys. Even if it was implemented, trying not to run a helicopter into poles and buildings while tracking your target will get old fast. Don't get me wrong, I wish you could've pivoted the gun instead of the chopper, but remember, the pilot doesn't do the firing. The Apache is two seater, the Hunter is one...Duh, I know, but I just don't think it can be done. I look at BF2 and consider trying to switch seets in the choppers, but the helicopter emmidiately starts torquing around. I just don't think it can be done. But, maybe it will be worked out that way for...duh duh duh duh...Multiplayer.
Mr. Someguy
Instead of an apache, lets use a helicopter like the MH-6 Little Bird. It has forward facing guns and rockets, so the pilot can gun.
bagga rabbit
I'd like a Hunter with heat-seeking rockets..KILLER.
RidingHigh
I wished the Hunter's cannons had a heat seaking aim like the Hydra, I always hated having to aim the whole chopper while trying to hit a moving target. Even if you get good you still have to blast off about 5 or 6 rockets to hit one car. I never had a problem with the chain gun's auto aim, only that it would aim for the wrong car sometimes. It'd like it have a target locking system like the heat seaking rockets, so you can use R2-L2 and lock onto one thing insted of the gun randomly shooting at what it wants. Make it so you just tap the aiming button on/off and it locks itself, so you dont have to hold it while trying to avoid buildings and shoot at the same time. That would ease the load on your fingers a little.

The Night Fox
The Hunter was always my favourite Air vehicle, I hope they bring it back

However, if it does appear I would like the cannon to be guided by the camera. I'm sure you know that the Apache's Weapons System Operator (gunner) usually has control over the 30mm, which takes the workload off the pilot during combat. If implemented in GTA though, this will have to be done well. Flying and moving the camera around to fire the gun would be quite a task.
TMR2007
I'm sure I've seen a screenshot of the Hunter in IV, maybe it was a fake. Anyhow, no matter what the aiming system is like I will just have to familiarise myself to it and that shouldn't be hard considering how much I will be playing IV.
