I used to play in school, and there was the keyboard notes in letters on the keys, And was wondering if anyone can link to an image or website that says what letters are on what keys, If you understand that? Maybe i'll be able to word it a bit better in a while. Thanks a lot guys if your able to help
Tryst
link to the picture I'm sure you know that, but just incase you don't. Black keys are sharps, and the notes repeat in intervals of 8 white keys. Each set from left to right is one octave higher. SHXC
Thank you so much, Tryst. I've been looking all over Google. I typed in search terms such as "Keyboard Note Letters", "Keyboard Notes", "Keyboard Letters". Each coming up with wrong information. Thanks. Cheers man. EDIT: The keyboard picture you linked to has different keys than mine. My keyboard starts with 2 sharps at the beginning. Your picture has 1. Slightly confused. EDIT: The keyboard picture you linked to has different keys than mine. My keyboard starts with 2 sharps at the beginning. Your picture has 1. Slightly confused. Every keyboard is layed out in the same pattern, octave after octave. The way I was taught to figure out notes one would start with C which is the first white key to the left of the set of two blacks. Each octave goes C C# D D# E F F# G G# A A# B and this pattern repeats. I'm assuming the guys who drew that brought it to sart with A because they wanted to associate it with the alphabet we all know a little better. Hayden Stasven
I know how you feel, I felt kinda confused when I first started a few years ago. It's pretty easy once you get used to it. Just remember that the two sharps alone house D, so it's like C|D|E... if that makes sense.
8ballsoffire
the black keys are the best navigation tool for the keyboard, like hayden said you should associate the white notes with the grouping of black notes they fall in.
