C.ompton
did you know after the game is done they spend like 2 months to find glitches and problems in the game ? Maybe GTA IV is done and they are finding the problems
YourNeighborhoodKiller
The delay was caused because of technical issues with the game. After they fix everything, they might plan on making a release date.
KillerKabel
Mmhhh, I don't know how much time they spend finding glitches, but I don't think it would take 2 months.. Just not gonna happen...

gtaIV_fan
Wow! Another great quote added to the list on these forums. So many great quotes floating around for sigs theres just too much choice. We already know that once the game is finished it is tested for glitches and bugs. The game probably is in the polishing stage. Edited December 25, 2007 by gtaIV_fan

I would have thought that they are polishing it now remember it was almmost complete 2 months ago.

atbin16
As We all know GTAIV is gona be a huge game by that I mean big city, long play time and lots of details.... so it is possible to have a lot of time taken jst to fix glitches and ofcourse it is Rockstars we are talking about.... they want a perfect game... they don't want it to be like assassins creed where everything was gr8 but there were glitches that pissed people off. but still i dont think it would take 2 months.... a month should be enough

atbin16
I wonder if they have to port this one, from 360 to PS3 they have started the game on both systems so none of them would be ports......

Aimee
I was also told that the game was delayed due to too many "glitches"...and yeah they probably would have found them all by now (Depends how big of a map we're talking about lol). I think we'll have IV by the end of March though personally...don't hold me to that though please lol.

SinceYouPutItThatWay
I think its safe to say that the progress of the game towards completion is pretty close to 100%. It makes sense that the last few percent of completion takes a longer time than the same amount of percentage of progress earlier in the process. The fewer the glitches left to find, the harder it is to find them. Hence, if we graphed the progress of completion over the timehorizon for which the project of making the game takes place, the graph would flatten out towards the end. EDIT: something like this: (made in paint with touchpad ) Edited December 26, 2007 by SinceYouPutItThatWay

defibrillator
GTA is a very big game, and alot of the little things that happen in it need to be perfected. I wouldn't be surprised if now was just the glitch trial period. Glitches can be anything that goes wrong and if you're considering the epic size of this game, then you will realize 1-3 months of testing isn't unrealistic. Even in one of the previews rockstar showed, a car went San Andreas on them, and started driving like a drunk driver, and Rockstar was shocked when it happened. Glitches like that and other things like mini games, races, stats, saving, using alot of weapons, massive amounts of explosions, their deviance to the game has to be minimal otherwise it's just going to be a Saint's Row GTA. It is important that they take their time, because I don't feel like getting stuck in between a ladder and a building because Rockstar didn't take a week or two more to check for bugs. I'm content with the wait, and it's for the better.
Azil2fu
yes, the game must be nearly finish now, but i've stopped waiting a release date. How i see things, late january rockstar will annouce a release date, late february the game goes gold, late march the damn game comes out.
ceedot
We have no idea what they are doing at the moment, but I think it is just finalising everything: going through missions to see if they all work, testing guns, cars, making sure everythings done. I really think the game's done, but as Rockstar are, they won't tell us if they are or not.

FrozenFire
Well if the game is done and they are going back to find glitches then that means the game is not done. Ah yes, true. Since the "Finding glitches" portion is still considered "Making the game", it won't be finished until they start marketing it as finished :]
