rebel_36
3d studio max is a good choice (google it), if you cant get that, download zmodeler, for gtasa zmodeler2 ( www.zmodeler.com)

Jabhacksoul
in zmodeler it needs a weird file extension not dff. How do i import the dff? First I would ask, which version of GTA are you modding? GTA III uses very different models from GTA VC and SA. Zmodeler will work just fine you should DL "TXD Workshop" it will export the texture to TGA so Zmodeler can import the mesh. If you are working with GTA III the models are made up of segments and have both a Low poly model and the high resolution poly model. GTA VC uses a single mesh and assigns bones. Then which version of Zmodeler you are using? Here are some good Zmodeler Tutorials but unfortunately none of them deal with peds or player mods. I have looked high and low and cannot find a tutorial for modding the player or peds. www.gtatools.com - TXD Workshop http://azz.gouranga.com/index.php?page=73 http://www.etspe.ca/zmt/v1/12.html#1 I plan to make a tutorial myself once I have perfected my methods but I have been using the Zmodeler to convert peds from GTA VC to GTA III. The pics are posted in this forum. If you are working with SA I don't have a clue. I am not modding that version yet and haven't even looked at the files. Check out the tutorials topic on this forum. Good luck and just keep doing it until it looks right.
dmforse123
Well i found out how to import dff's into zmodeler but i need the registered version to do that but i want to model for SA
derty
One more time: Learn to model FIRST, THEN think about modding. These things do not go hand in hand. Learn to model, then think about modding. Google is your friend, and anything Not 3dsMax/Gmax is pretty much useless.
