How Will The Cops React To Pedestrian Crimes?

With the new technology maybe we will finally see police go after other people realistically. It sucked in SA when a gang would shoot at me right in front of the police, and they would keep walking like aint nothin goin on. But soon as i take out the 2 pistols and defend myself, the police come right after me.

 

So the first thing im gonna do when i get the game, is punch a ped and run infront of a police. Then let the ped hit me infront of the cop, and see what happens.

But with the new system, wouldn't the ped tell on you instead, therefor leaving you to deal with the officer anyway.

I wouldn't mind seeing A Rodney King or two. Maybe see A sidewalk full of young thugs, getting read their rights. See A cop chase A ped up A fire Escape, throw 'em off the roof. I wish the robbery's would return from vice city, and you could see A ped hold up another ped, then watch A cop go in for the bust. But i guess I wanting too much.

If Niko could do that it would be great. Tackling people right through the window of a skyscraper would be an amazing pass time.

with the euphoria engine u can tackle people by just running into them

but the only negative part of that is

u will probable end up eating concrete aswell

I was wet-dreaming about the same thing. I personally expect the cops to react the same towards peds as you, meaning peds get a wanted level too, and can get SWAT/FBI etc... on them.

And for those saying that is expecting too much, well if anything I expect better from GTA than the Driver series is wanted levels - they invented the wanted level system more advanced than any other game after all, and in Driver parallel lines, peds get a 'wanted level' just like you.

 

So in pony-farm, after a shootout with one another, some gangster peds get the police on them. A car explodes and kills some police, so the SWAT and a helicoper come after the peds, all while TK has no wanted level at all. Am I expecting too much by expecting GTA to be better than this crappy copycat series in something they have always traditionally been best at - even invented?

 

I'd love to see Niko calling the cops on a massive crack factory or something, and witnessing the shootout between security forces, including SWAT, FBI and cops and the gangsters. The gangsters wont just run up to the cops and fight them, but use the cover systems Niko uses, while SWAT charge in, throwing flash-bangs n every room, while snipers take shots from nearby rooftops. Some gangsters fight till the bitter end, while some surrender and drop their guns as soon as they see the SWAT. Others could flee, using the nearest vehicles available and being chased by the cops. Hell, they can even get some to surrender initially, then whip out a handgun and shoot the police, like some armed gangsters did surrender for a short while then shoot in previous GTA's. Niko should also be able to call hired goons to help him out as well as the cops.

After the area could be cordoned off, with the Crime Scene forensics people walking about, and examining the bodies.

 

This system could be used in missions, and would not only make them a lot more realistic, but also adds a much better, more action-packed and violent atmosphere.

But the most funny in GTA is that ambulance kill more people than they save!

Remember that mission where you have to steal the police bikes and on one of the bikes the cop is pulled over giving someone a drug test. I would love to see that every now and then as I drive by. Also maybe cops arresting someone or chasing them.

And smashing into the pavement isnt necessarily a problem. Its what I want to see to be honest with you. Better yet Id like to see both Niko and the tackled smash into a ped bellow. And even better yet Id like to see it happen on top of a car.

 

If living is what you're into I guess you can always think ahead and pack a 'chute.

What I HATED though was during the riots when people would punch you, you would fight back, and get a star. It was really retarted.

 

I also hate it at any time when you get cop notoriety when atking an enemy gang member, whether they attack you or not.

I liked it in the warriors when

if you committed a crime, you didn't automatically get cops after you. It had to be seen by a ped, and they'd have to report it. So, they'd get an exclamation mark over their heads (an icon) and start running for the nearest phonebooth. If you got to them before they actually made the call, cops didn't come. You could send your team to beat up the pedestrians in phonebooths as well.... that was brutal.

 

It's not been mentioned anywhere, but I think this is the way you'll get wanted stars in GTA now. Somebody has to actually see you commit a crime, and report it. I don't know, it's gonna be a little different with everybody carrying cellphones. It was a rockstar game.. so.. maybe they used it... maybe they expanded it... maybe they didn't and it's gonna suck balls...
