Call of Duty 5 - World At War

Ill be playing in a few minutes. I suck pretty bad still, not used to this game to much. Going to play some zombies then maybe work on unlocking some stuff in the rifle category.

I never use the scopes on the bolt action rifles as you have a better, more widespread view without so there is less chance you will miss an enemy run pass your line of sight.

 

Managed to get a 22 kill streak the other day, on Cliffside. My dogs went to town on their team and I just kept popping up getting single kills here and there until the end of the match. Had 25 kills and 2 deaths in all!

I've finally started to enjoy playing WaW, Hardcore > War is the only thng i play at the moment, it can be really frustrating if things arn't going for you, I've got the Perk so that i can revive downed allies, but do i get points for this? I revive tons of people sometime, noone ever seems to revive me when im on Last Stand.

 

I did use a Bolt action without a scope on Hardcore, but it was just to unreliable whilst the enemies are near.

I always get team mates like that. They don't care about being a team, they just want their kill count as high as possible.

I will not use 2nd Chance for these very reasons unless I am in a full party with my friends. It is a waste of a perk 90% of the time when you are playing with people you don't know because they don't give two sh*ts about you, only kills.

Having fun on castle There's like a room with windows slightly open, sniping from there. Finished a game with 25+ snipes.

 

On a side note: Never play hardcore teamdeath match with Martyrdom. My friend got booted. His martyrdom grenade kept killing his teammates and he got booted for betrayal., Sad story....

I think Dome is by far the best map if you want non stop action, no?

though I love to camp on castle, in the building where alot of snipers are....a betty on each entrance and you're completely safe.

I agree about dome. On castle, I'm talking about the one with only one entrance, the tower by the bridge and the hallway.

Last time I camped there I was too close to the wall, and some guy with a browning sprayed me.

I need some help. In one of the trophies(Kamikaze I think) tells the gamer to use a knive and grenades to beat the mission.

I did that, but didn't get the trophy. Maybe because I used the rifle's knive? And yes it was on regular difficulty. And in that mission, I killed an enemy with my gun but purposely killed my self so I can still get the trophy. But didn't. Any clues why this happened?

If you are doing it, but you accidently kill someone with a gun you'll have to restart the whole mission, it's not fixed when you suicide.

Yeah, I agree. It's mostly because that map is one of the smallest. It's great for Capture the Flag matches as well.

I got the kamikaze achievement by accident XD. But I remember killing a guy with the garand, yet I still got the achievment.

Hi I have been trying to update my copy of COD:WAW to the 1.1 version using the patch. Whenever I try to install it it give me a 1628 error - cant complete the installation with no reason why.

My DVD drive has real problems reading the disc (it only succesfully reads it about 1 out of 30 tries ejecting/closing) so just installing the game took ages. Becasue of this I downloaded a nodvd crack to play solo/coop. when I did this I backed up the original .exe and replaced it when trying to install the patch but it still didn't work.

I'm running windows 7 and the game runs great as it is but I can't play multiplayer cos u need the patch to join servers.

 

And before anyone has a rant - I do own the game and did not pirate it.

 

How can I install the patch?

I agree, is it me or are the Last Stand perk's lasting longer? I shoot someone, i see them go onto Last Stand & it takes ages for me to get the kill.

If you ever even get the damn kill. I used to hate that damn perk because I'd never get the kill. I'd down him then try to walk away but he shoots me in the back. I'm dead, then I get an assist cause someone else killed him. Honestly if a person kills a player you downed that should be an assist for them not you.

 

 

Anyway me and my friend played a few games on Saturday. For some reason I can't stop using the MP40. I already got the Aperture (sp?) for it and I would have everything else but I only play on weekends. Anybody else seeing themselves only really usuing one gun? It was the same for COD4, I stayed with the MP5, and couldn't do sh*t with anything else.

Yeah, just had my best round, went 38-20 with a silenced MP40, love that gun.

I only use the Nambu on classes I have Sleight on. With Sleight, the Nambu is a f*cking beast. Also, when I get Drum Mag for the Thompson, I'm going to put Double Tap on it. Best substitute for the PPSh I've seen.

 

Edit: Forgot to mention, they've all got smoke grenades, the MG42 is the only class that doesn't have a frag (it's got a sticky, being the anti-tank class), and they all have Ordinance Training: just can't beat that perk for tank vs. tank.

I think my sniper class is very effective

 

Primary: Kar98k

Attachment: Scope

Secondary: PPsh

Attachment: Aperture Sight

Perk 1: Bandolier

Perk 2: Over Kill

Perk 3: Extreme Conditioning

Vehicle Perk: Coaxial Machine Gun

 

Reason why I have to main weapons is because of over kill. Having a machine gun to protect you is better than a pistol.

You can if you use the Overkill perk.

I've never liked the Overkill perk, unless its Hardcore, in normal matches i have to use StoppingPower or i really feel the difference.
