Co-Op Gameplay

Also Keith Sutherland from 24 is going to be voicing a character in the game

Well that video rocked my socks off, but Sutherland's voice, ugh...Such a crap fit for this game. Beside it being absolutely annoying, hearing it only makes me think of Jack Bauer.

Rocked your socks off? That was a pretty mediocre vid to me. Graphics were pretty ugly TBH and they're just using the "tactics that they used" as an excuse so they can just have hoardes of enemies attacking you.

I think it was pretty good. But it is annoying that he IS Jack Bauer. I'm still not too fond of that enemies can come ten feet in front of you and still not hurt you.

How the hell is the Brothers in Arms topic still alive but this drifts off to the other page? I'm looking more forward to this for some reason.

Anyways has anybody seen the August version of the game informer. They had a preview on it and they said that the game looks damn good. Also they said that this may be a chance to end the strife against Treyarch.

@gta 4 gamer - WW2 is awesome!

BiA: Lots of videos and information.

CoD: Not as much.

I know I'll be getting it. The previews make me pretty pleased with how it's turning out, especially in animation and effects. They're a visible improvement over CoD4, and considering how much I loved the animations and effects in that game, that's saying something.

Also, I don't get why everyone hates Treyarch. It's like EA, how everyone sees the logo and says "Okay, that's it. I'm gone." Why does it have to be one way or the other? EA has made some gems, and I didn't find CoD3 that bad, really. I just hate that people assume that just because of some bad games by a developer (bad only in their opinion, anyway), they're going to avoid them like the plague.

Also, why the hate towards World War II? Sure, it's been done to death, and World War II games have been produced for more years than the war actually went on. However, very few games deviate from the European front. We always end up seeing the exact same battles in different formats with the same "action shots" (Parachutes in Market Garden, boats on fire during D-Day, etc.). The Pacific front is relatively untouched. I can only count Battlestations: Midway and two Medal of Honor games that have done the war against Japan. So, in the end, it'll be pretty fresh to us in comparison. Besides, how many modern warfare locales can you have without rehashing something? We've already seen the old USSR and the middle east just from the last game.

P.S. One question: Why do all these people say "If it goes back to World War II, I'm not getting it!" or "If Treyarch makes it, I won't get it!"? Is it really so offensive that no matter how great the reviews are, you will shun the game like a baby shuns their vegetables at dinner?

Couldn't agree with you more.

All I can say, if you hold a grudge because its WW2, just stick to your word and "Don't get it".

The BigSlick

You make great points, but multiplayer will be the most intresting. The main question is, will going back to WW2 impace multiplayer? In my opinion very much so.

Just look at WW2 weapons, full auto is slow, fire power is not good. People are going to be pissed of, not being able to use a Barret, or shoot a thousand bullets a second with the P90 with red dot, also whats going to happen with the heli?

Imo, they should keep all the modern weapons and format for the multiplayer only. I dont see why not

The heli's just ruined CoD4, they are just pure bullsh*t. Having older weapons makes the game more fun I think, I can still go on CoD2 and have more fun because the weapons are less accurate, its more of a challenge and you need a bit more skill.

If people are going to be pissed off, they won't buy the game will they? They'll stick to CoD4, where you need no skill at all and can use the over powered weapons and perks to your own personal preference.

Perks are going to be in this game you know. It's the same multiplayer as COD4 just with vehicles, different weapons and bigger maps.

Yeah, they can still call in airstrikes (ala fighters coming in at low altitude and dropping bombs/spraying the field with bullets). Not so sure about choppers, they weren't put into any real kind of use until the 50s. tounge.gif

Sounds good, not sure about the perk part, but apart from that, it sounds awesome. Might be another Battlefield 2, apart from the fact that its WW2.

Here's why: It's a WWII game. Stay to CoD4 and leave ths game to us who want to play it. With or without the P90 with RDS and a silencer.

Besides, the Thompson had a high firerate. Sure, it's no GA-12 (or whatever miniguns are called), but for sixty years ago, it's pretty good.

They didn't even call it an assault rifle in Korea, did they? I'm not pre-ordering a game to get the Carbine. I'll stick to the Garand (I say so now, but I know I won't), because it's the regular infantry man rifle. The only advantage I see in using a Carbine is the lager magazine, as opposed to the Garand's eight round clip. I love the PLING when one empties his clip.

Great list, by the way. I just finished reading With the Old Breed by E.B. Sledge (upon which HBO's The Pacific will be based, and Helmet for My Pillow) and gosh, was it a great book. I actually felt bad when reading about the Marine who went into an old, wounded lady's hut and "put her out of her misery". I'd say it's on par with Ambrose's Band of Brothers. And that says a lot.

Thanks for the bump, I'da done it myself, but I can't seem to find news worthy of posting.

Drunk Russian 9

The video on the last page showing co-op was kind of weird. I mean sure, lots of action, but I noticed hardly any of the Japanese were shooting at them. They were just running at them like zombies.

There is a good chance they set the setting on easy so they don't look like dumb asses.

The Nips didn't do that. At night, they went behind American lines and stealthily killed a few - jumped into their foxholes, slit their throat and went on - and often perished themselves. At day, they wouldn't pull that sh*t. Unless they were sent on a suicide mission and weren't given guns. If anyone can explain why did they do that, please do.

I'm guessing it's on MEGA EASY.

Call of Duty World at War Exclusive Preview

New Gameplay clips, and feedback from the 1up guys. Here's a few things they pointed out.

1. The flamethrower is a unique weapon for single-player

2. The environments are massive, even bigger then Call of Duty 4.

3. More intense then Call of Duty 4.

4. Plays the same as Call of Duty 4 and even though the weapons are different, the game plays the same.

5. Co-Op is a unique feature and probably one of the best for the game.

6. The German and the Japanese A.I. play differently when you verse each enemy.

I missed the gameplay video, or exclusive yada-yada. That's cool.

I can't decide which game I should get this fall, WaW or GOW. Don't say both, because I ain't made of money.

My, very much biased, answer is WaW, of course. In CoD4, only a few days after the release, I saw commanders all over the place. This bugged the sh*t outta me and I though, "Who are these f*cking geeks?". This time around, I'm not gonna give a sh*t and buy it when I want.

Well this is the first gameplay video i have seen that's got me excited, it's got me abit more excited about the release. They was saying how the game is much more intence than any other CoD before this, which i thought CoD4 lacked. Another thing i worry about with games is that i have stopped looking forward to the storylines and the actual gameplay and i have started looking more to the online mode's which anoys me, they say there is an online co-op game, which will defaintely help colgate.gif

Can't wait now.
