I hope they actually speak Russian, not that accented English.

You know the Russian Pics actually remind me of COD2's Russian Campaign. This looks like the true nex-gen ww2 game, and it actually looks like Infinity Ward in Screens 4 and 5 to me. I wish Infinity Ward made a true nex-gen ww2 game, but i guess Treyarch can possibly knail it. The campaign seems like it's going to be really long. Think about it?

The first mission - Maikan Road or something like that

Airgun missions

Russian snowy Berlin missions

Russian countryside missions (look at the trailer)

Tank missions will possibly be in

Jungle missions

I hope it's longer than COD2 at least or it's in the same format. I hated how COD3 was 14 long missions. I like 27 or more shorter ones. They are more replayable and it makes you want to complete it on veteran.

Carbine23 - This game is going to have squads though *gta star*

That's good to hear, but I was talking about CoD4.

I like the extra screenshots you posted. However, if the game really looks like that, I'd imagine it will be a demanding game to run?

Gronf - Here, here. Public BF2 is a no-no for teamwork.

It depends what servers you actually play on, what squad you are in and how good the players on your team actually are.

I really don't understand the aircraft defensive gunner missions, all it's is going to be is a unrealistic arcade like shoot-em up.

Unneeded in my opinion.

Though in essence, call of duty isn't the most realistic game either.

IGN preview on Russian and Gunning missions

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/887/887835p1.html

We'll see what Activision has to show off for World at War at E3 next week, but the one thing that's clear is that, with World at War, Treyarch is striving to offer a mix of gameplay experiences. The question as to how successful this mix will be should be provided later this year, when World at War is expected to ship

So expect Gameplay to be shown at the E3 event next week i suppose. I'm not a fan of the gaming channel but i'll watch it just to get a glimpse of on screen gameplay!

I don't like the different gunning missions or go shoot that rocket launcher missions. Hell, the men needed seperate training to operate the BAR. Sure anyone can pull the trigger, but how successful would he be? Just hope they don't ask us to fly and then to drive a boat. Ah, well. Diversity might add something to gameplay. But for me it's realism<gameplay, since realism usually adds a lot to gameplay.

I remember the airplane mission from COD: Big Red One and it was extremely fun and intense. I also liked the AC gunship mission from COD4 although i wasn't a fan of the white/black camo, but i suppose that's how they do it these days. I'm going to enjoy the effects of ships sinking in the pacific water while gunning them down. And the Russian missions look really cool and brutal!

Not camo, it was infrared sensors.

In real life the biggest ship you could sink with a planes defensive guns was a small fishing boat, nevermind it is nearly impossible to hit anything with those guns unless the target is at your dead six.

But again, Call of Duty isn't really noted for its realism.

I sink ships with AA guns in Battlefield 1942. It's still fun. Even if it's filled with historical errors (in the trailer, the men going to Omaha are being shot at with planes. In real life, there only were to planes to defend Normandy, since Major Pips Priller had been deprived of his division. He and his clerk flew to the beaches later, about H+ 6-10, not sure which time exactly)

First gameplay revealed, but on the wii! Dammit! Why couldn't it be on the PS3/Xbox360? sad.gif

http://planetcallofduty.gamespy.com/fullstory.php?id=152431

The Wii is after all the most popular console of them all. I'd prefer a Vista version with DX10, but this look pretty good too. Let's just hope those screens were Wii screens, imagine how good the game will look on Vista. wow.gif

You can still get up close and personal with the enemy and they won't shoot you. I wonder if the flamethrower can blow up á la Saving Private Ryan.

I think there's a bigger market out there for DX9, people get Vista and are going straight back to XP again.

Yeah, the XP market is larger, but with 60 million DirectX 10 ready GPUs, it can't hurt. Personally, if I ever get Vista, I would go back to XP, mainly because Vista is a performance hog and not all games work on it. DX10 is just lighting, shading and whatnot. Noting major, but it does look a lot better than the Wii.

I have a DX10 GPU myself, but I've been told to stay clear of Vista for the time being.

Yeah, DX10 isn't all that great anyhow.

Co-Op Gameplay

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36636.html

Also Keith Sutherland from 24 is going to be voicing a character in the game

That was pretty f*cking epic. And people are bitching about them going back to WWII. Sure, it lacks the realism of BiA, but it makes up for it with better voice acting and fun gameplay. Not that BiA isn't fun.

When I read Kiefer Sutherland I though "Great, this is gonna rock... confused.gif", but he's pretty good. Even though we all know that Donald Sutherland is the man.

Yeah, I havn't seen any WW2 games that interest me on PS3, this looks pretty damn good, still think that it would have been better if IW made it dozingoff.gif But cant complain as it doesn't look bad.

Nice find, How many CoD5 video's are there, ive seen two so far?

Initially I was worried how I would do without red dot on certain weapons but the fact is when playing COD 4 I often get rid of this add on once I have the silencer unlocked. I also believe this will give everyone playing online a much fairer playing field with no one team having an advantage.

I just hope Treyarch will play COD and take not of some of the many annoyances (juggernaut, enemies spawning in the same room as you, knife not working too will, etc).

The lack of a red dot made you think the game would suck?

There'll be some weapons customization, but I certainely hope it's not like in CoD4 or the EA game with the two guys. Silencer on a Garand? Red dot sight on a Thompson?

No I didn’t think the game would suck I was just worried how I would do but as I say, i often make use of the silencer add on and as everyone knows you cant use both in MP.

Dam that gameplay footage is amazing.

The silencer might make a comeback, since they'll probably end up having the radar left unless you play Hardcore ( icon14.gif ). Seems silly to me walking around with Carbine with a silencer.

I always opted for the red dot, since I only played Hardcore. And I never used the .50 either, since the Dragunov was better in Hardcore (less damage, but better fire rate and less recoil).
