Anyway, is there an actual firm date on when this releases or not?

I think the original release date was around October/November but it got delayed until February-ish, but i don't think it's actually got a concrete release date yet.

I can't believe i'm saying this, but i hope that's true. I'm running extremely low on money and i only have enough to pay for one game. I want to buy Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway and Gears of War 2, and Call of Duty: World at War at the same time. Also that includes the xbox live prepaid card i'll have to get. It really sucks though and i should've gotten a job this summer, but i guess i'll have to wait till next year. So i'm hoping it releases in December or after the holidays because i'll have money by then.

You're jinxing it. Wait for the game(s). JINXX! I've been "waiting" for GTA IV for ages. (I don't actually want it, but a lot of freaks in the PC thread do)

I'm soo gonna get BiA.

Don't jinx it.

Seriously.

Sorry man. You seem like the most dedicated to this topic biggrin.gif

I'm also getting Brothers in Arms too! You could take a rocket launcher and it can cut Nazis in half! I've been awaiting a WW2 game with intense gore. The other brothers in arms wasn't that blood, but there was a lot of strong language in it. Only cutscenes were pretty bloody like the first mission in road to hill 30 when they are fighting on the hill. I'm looking forward to non-cinematic violence in that game

Yeah. The gore's gonna be great, not because it's cool, but because it's realistic. WWII FPS all the way!

Have you seen the new vids? Theres one where a guys finger gets shot and is hanging off, and in the Ubidays 08 trailer Captain Baker has cuts all over his face. Looks really cinamtic and violent this game.

Ah, yeah. It's gonna be great. I'm about to re-install the original (Road to Hill 30). I hope CoD5 has gore like that (see what I did there? tounge.gif)

Anyway, I just found out that Call of Duty: United Offensive features a Bastogne map. I'm gonna have to buy that now.

Yeah and Grey Matter developed United Offensive. During the making of Big Red One, Grey Matter formed into Treyarch. Some people left to other companies while others stayed. So the same people that worked on United Offensive worked on Big Red One and COD3.

COD3 sucked in single player terms but Big Red One was amazing i thought. That was one of the very few COD games where i liked the characters i was surrounded with (except for Macgregor, Price and McMillan). When Brooklyn died in the last mission, i felt so freakin bad and it felt like i lost something close to me. Probably because he said "i think i might actually make it home from this lousy war" right before he died. Such a sad moment. Hope they achieve that in future Call of Duty's.

Never played Big Red One. Saw the movie, though. tounge.gif

Any news on WaW? Am I the only one who thinks that BiA had bad voice acting?

The battle of Perliue (spelling) could be great. I saw PBS's "The War" not long ago about just that battle.

Eh, Saipan would be a lot better in my opinion.

Thanks. The thing that's interesting about that battle is that the ships' cooks, African Americans, also joined (and they weren't from the 92nd Division) and they all got along. Saipan looks pretty interesting too.

I feel bad for those who aren't getting this game, because look how awesome it is! The graphics are definitley an improvement from the earliest screens. I think i'm going to enjoy the airplane gunner missions, and the Russian campaign. This might be the most intense COD game yet. Who knows? biggrin.gif

EDIT: I couldn't find bigger versions. Go to the Call of Duty website for these screenshots or somebody could be nice enough to find Hi-Res versions colgate.gif

Finally some news! This game is gonna be great. Hope I don't toss it out after two months, like CoD4.

The fire and explosions look very impressive, loving the old fashioned ghillie suits too! No word on a release date yet then?

2008. Not that specific... Yeah... They've been working on it for years, so it may be near-finished.

All I care about is the multiplayer. If it has the perks and stuff like CoD4 I'll get it.

Yeah i think Treyarch has already stated they'll be using perks in multiplayer.

I'm not looking forward to attempting this on Veteran with the WW2 weapons, CoD 4 was bad enough with modern weapons so this is going to be very frustrating.

I hope they sort out the stupid grenade spamming that happens on Veteran mad.gif.

Sorry have to, but those ferns on those Japanese soldiers are not ghillie suits.

It is nothing more than camouflage applied in the field by using what is around them. Didn't matter if you were a sniper or not, a lot of soldiers applied it anyways,

The new COD is looking great! I was definitely a skeptic at first about the WWII front because I appreciated a company FINALLY doing a modern war game that wasn't a tactical shooter like Ghost Recon. In all honesty, I think I've played COD4 for more cumulative time than GTA IV.

Brief aside about Hell's Highway: Has anyone actually watched gameplay vids from that game? I can't stand the constant commands you're belting out to your teammates. There seems to be very little variety in the statements considering a minute doesn't go by where you don't issue some command. Anyone else feel the same way? I certainly do appreciate the realism of BiA though with respect to gore. Good for them for being different.

The screenshots on the previous page look amazing, can't wait to get this game now!

Looks like CoD4 might die out quicker than expected.

I think not. A bunch of kids still can't get over their SPAGMAZ 49-guage shotgun.

Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake

! Those gunner missions look like crazy fun.

I'm on the official website now, it's getting me pretty hyped.

Edit: What I don't get, if there isn't even a release date for this thing, why were they airing the trailer a few weeks back on tv? I saw it and was like, what the hell!?

Call of Duty 4 wasn't released that long ago... I take it CoD5 has been in development since Treyarch released CoD3?

As for its multiplayer aspect, I'm definitely FOR perks providing they're in for good reason. What really pisses me off in CoD4 is to find you lose a kill because they're using the ever-so-stupid and pointless Juggernaut perk. It could actually work this time if they do it right.

But yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to this. Those screens look pretty nice too.

Just tell them to follow you (Z on the PC) and then just rush through and die. I love it, but it does get a bit repetitive. I wish for a cease fire command and a "open map, tell soilders where to go" kind of command. Dunno how the last one would work out.

That's the crap thing about CoD4 really, its just a run around and spray type of game, like an arcade. If it was more tactical, i.e. Squads and squad leaders, that would be much better.

That's why we have BiA. Leave CoD to be a run n' gun game. We need those too.

I'll stick to BF2 for a teamwork style of game.

smile.gif

I'll stick to PR for that^

Here, here. Public BF2 is a no-no for teamwork. PR on the other hand... Is great. I tried FH2, but there was hardly any teamwork, waiting for the ETO patch to be released.

This game is going to have squads though *gta star*

Treyarch stated it, when they were discussing about multiplayer. This game will be more tactical though. COD3 required a lot of strategy on the vehicle maps. Trust me, with vehicles you need strategy. Plus, Treyarch's maps are bigger. I remember on the map Poisson in COD3, my team got stuck across the river. The tanks on the other side literally blew us up every second. It was one of the most intense moments i've ever experienced in a game. Tanks can be annoying, but they lead to the fun factor. I wish we could fly planes, and control ships but sadly i don't think it's going to happen. The multiplayer is like COD4 with bigger maps, vehicles, squads, different weapons, and more strategy. Plus, i hope Treyarch keeps their game lengths like in COD3. However i heard they're going for the matchmaking system, so sadly there might not be 1 hour long games anymore sad.gif
