Are you using stopping power?!? Thats the only other reason I could think it would take more shots, except like i said before your a bad shot. I use stopping power on every class except for my 1 hardcore class.

Awwww yeah, got to Round 30 on Der Riese, legit and no cheating or disconnections! A guy had a problem and disconnected at 28 but we soldiered on with just three people until 30 when one guy got separated and it fell apart from there! But I'm relieved to have surpassed my lost victory from yesterday; karma really is sweet. I camped on the catwalk at the Bowie Knife spawn after at about Round 20 our last guy was forced to open a door at the M1A1 Camp Site in order to escape, but both are great. Now I've got to spots to fall back on.

I can also confirm that the Kar98k is at most 2 shot kill. And Twind is right. Your experience with WaW IS minimal. The Mosin-Nagant is a guaranteed 1 hit kill unless you shoot them in the leg or they have Juggernaut. Maybe your neglecting Stopping Power....

Yeah, I used to use the Kar day in and out on this game, and it never required more than two shots to take a guy down. Definitely my favorite boltie.

Skill required in any Call of Duty game since Call of Duty 2? Don't make me laugh. Well, Call of Duty 2 still required skill (bolt action rifles and such)... but apart from that the automatic weapons were overpowered and the (multiplayer) maps were made so small that (bolt action) rifle players would always be disadvantaged.

Who cares. We're talking about World at War, NOT CoD2. And yeah you're right, you don't need skill to play ANY CoD game online, you just need to be smart. But please - I mean really - can you type a post in a console CoD topic that doesn't mention CoD2? You like the game and prefer it to the newer ones because it's more realistic etc etc, we get the point.

So apparently a bunch of glitchers found out how to round skip in Der Riese (no hacking, modding, whatever). I might do it, but I'm against that kind of stuff. I'll probably just try it out and see if it works for me. Other than that, I'd like to get to rounds fairly.

If you had read 'nearly every post of me' then you would know that I actually don't like Call of Duty 2 either. Call of Duty/United Offensive are somewhat the 'holy grail' for me (but still, nothing is entirely perfect).

 

Still, skill isn't needed. But luck and such is just entirely lame. Sometimes (or well, most of the times) online matches of the latest COD installments look more like random sprayfests where you spawnkill people. The one with the most luck gets the most points.

 

Ah well... it's still 'fun'.

Anyone here happen to mod the Xbox 360 version with COD tool? My friend is getting a PC to HDD transfer cable and we're going to try it out in split screen on Der Riese. Should be sweet because you can decrease the gravity and get on little perches that are outside of the regular area.

Sorry, must have misread. I understand where you're coming from and the closest you get to realism in the CoD games are Hardcore Search and Destroy I believe. And yeah you don't necessarily need to be good at the games to get a decent score, for example I played CoD4 for the first time in a week or so - and I get very rusty very quickly - and I went 46-16 in a Domination game, and 33-7 in a TDM, all you really need to be to play these games online is smart. And even then, a little lucky not get spawnf*cked all the time.

 

But I digress, if there's any WWII game that's anywhere near to realism I'd love to see it. But I'm pretty happy with the whole rinse and repeat feel of CoDWaW/4's online system.

Oh, I let my boyfriend play WaW and even MW all the time, but he sucked hard. He plays it nearly every day (CoD4) now, and he's still usually bottom of the charts on each game. He loves it, though.

 

That said, the game isn't all luck. It does take a lot of common sense, but it also requires a lot of smarts and tactics to really succeed.

 

I think I just called him stupid...

 

Edit: Treyarch would probably do really well just making a zombie game seeing how successful it is in WaW.

That video's been out for a while. Found it at WeTheGamerz.com . It does work, I used it to get Perkaholics Anonymous. I would have got it legit, but I got no friends online that plays CoD much as randoms don't even buy Juggernaut. I would have had no chance.

So just for S&G's i popped the Moslin in my no scope bolt action class just now and ended up going 34-4-7 on Upheaval TDM. The next best on my team was 18-2-17 and the best on the other team was like 12-21. I kinda felt bad

I was playing last night and realized that some game modes like TDM and S&D still have double XP, but others like HQ don't. Anyone know why? This is PS3, obviously.

What I found strange was at the start of the week I was taking advantage of the double XP and then got to Thursday and it was gone, slightly annoyed but I accepted it. Then last night I thought I'd play some more and realised I got 100 points for a kill in S&D. I'm happy again

That's the only thing I liked about Call of Duty 3 (yes, I said 3). When the host left, the guy who had the highest score was automatically the new host. Personally, I think that the guy with the best connection should have been the host, but nevertheless, it was much better than CoD4/CoD5's way of just ending the game.

I wish there was some way to tell if you ARE the host. The only way I can see is if the host is the only one with the biggest green connection. Still, in most games, other people have the same, high, green connection. There should be the words "End Game", instead of "Leave Game" if you're the host just so you know. I hate accidentally ending games because I have to leave and then hearing people bitch at me for it.

Hit Select at the beginning of the game. At the start, the host will have the only four-bar connection. Everyone else will have a one-bar connection for a few seconds, and then it will show their true connections.

The problem with that, is that it would make it easier to determine if you yourself are the host. Most players would go, "hey, I'm host," wait until the round was about to end (bomb is being defused in S&D, winning team needs five points on Domo, etcetera), then quit.

 

A lot of people already do it, but still.

I always love getting host, which is a rarity considering that my connection is only decent, but the millisecond advantage you get is awesome. I can always figure who's the host by watching the Kill Cam after a death, because sometimes I'll unload a clip into someone only to seemingly miss every single shot, then watch the Kill Cam recording and see that apparently I shot one or no rounds before getting sprayed to death. It's annoying as f*ck, but that's how games work when there's no dedicated servers to play on.

Ya, sometimes I'll spectate a teammate and he'll miss every shot yet kill the enemy. Just connection and lag I guess. Anyway, I wonder if the Pack a Punch will return to the next zombie map (If there is one..., nothing confirmed/said/announced) yet.

Seee, i bought COD WAW yesterday ad did nearly more than half solo upto tpday... Now i wanna play ONLINE and do some co-op and tdm.. but when i click on create online profile and type my name it says creating online profile and returns back to same menu that says write a name for online profile!! So my profile never gets created! any ideas?

 

Anbd i have not updated to latest patch... For this online profile.. Do i needc latets patch? please help me out here guys i wanna play onlie
