I was looking forward to the new Nile album. Then I put it on and felt complete deja vu by the second song. I haven't listened to any of the songs from that album since then. Some might be good though so I should of said something differently, but a majority of the bands on that list really suck. I didn't even know Behemoth had a new album out. Uno Carb
You're f*cking kidding me right? Last time I checked, we set a standard for the metal enthusiasts. This topic is set in the negative of that standard.

nabo45
Best metal releases in 2007: Megadeth - United Abominations IMO, people stopped making good metal. Now it's all people screaming into microphones. And thers no more proper guitar solos either. We need more bands like Megadeth, with proper guitarists and singers. Moonshield
Haha, I don't think Dave Mustaine's whining was EVER considered proper singing...
nabo45
Haha, I don't think Dave Mustaine's whining was EVER considered proper singing... And i don't think screaming into a microphone was called proper singing either, but it turns out that it is. Also a lot of people seems to like Dave Mustaine's "whining", because there seems to be many people liking their music .

I could name you a ton of metal albums released this year that have proper guitar solos and clean vocals. In fact, most of the albums on my list have clean vocals and guitar solos. Who would've figured.... Not to mention they're all better than the new Megadeth album. My list: Big Business - Here Come The Waterworks Weedeater - Good Luck and God Speed sHEAVY - The Machine That Won The War Doomsword - My Name Will Live On Orange Goblin - Healing Through Fire Trouble - Simple Mind Condition Electric Wizard - Witchcult Today Reverend Bizarre - So Long Suckers Dethklok - The Dethalbum Slough Feg - Hardworlder Candlemass - King of the Grey Islands Municipal Waste - The Art of Partying Wolves in the Throne Room - Two Hunters Truckfighters - Phi Monster Magnet - 4-Way Diablo Korpiklaani - Tervaskanto INDIAN - Slights and Abuse High on Fire - Death is This Communion The Hidden Hand - The Resurrection of Whiskey Foote Electric Magma - Coconut Bangers Ball

In fact, most of the albums on my list have clean vocals and guitar solos. Who would've figured.... Yeah, there is a few good metal bands out there. like Blow, they got 2 vocalists, one that sounds like Ozzy Osbourne, and another who screams into the mic (like everyone else). They also have some good guitar solos, search YouTube for the song Redirected, if you wanna hear how they sound. But thats about one of the only bands who still make good music, other than that its just sh*t (no offence to those who like that music of course ). Trows
No no no no no. That wasn't very good, and "screaming into the mic" isn't metal either. Edit: Song from what's quickly becoming one of my favourite albums from 2007. It's only a short sample of the entire song, which goes on for just under 10 minutes. I still have yet to hear any album (that came out in 2007) that was epic. I still haven't gotten the new FastKill record (Nuclear Thrashing Attack) but I think it'll be good. Actually, if Bolt Thrower - Those Once Loyal came out in 2007, I'll say that one because it's epic.
Digital Murders
You failed to mention this... As well as the new Iced Earth. Both were the only metal albums worth picking up this past year. Edited January 2, 2008 by Digital Murders
DrPanini
August Burns Red - Messengers. I don't listen to metal, but this album is absolutely amazing.
Canoxa
One personal favourite of mine was Behemoth's The Apostasy. They seem to be getting better and better, even if no one believes that's possible. DT's Systematic Chaos was pretty good too. I also quite enjoyed Dimmu Borgir's In Sorte Diaboli.
