Street Names

I recently downloaded the Burnout Paradise Demo on XBL Marketplace and I found something unique about the game. Every street had a name and it displayed it at the top of the screen. I think that this would be a great thing to implement for GTA IV. What do yall think?

Yeah it would be cool, and I think it already has been said that it will have individual street names. (Not sure though)

Although I'm sure True Crime used it also...

I knew that it had been confirmed. What I meant was that while you are driving or walking, at the top of the screen it would show the street name.

I'll have to look that up. I know I have that somewhere, maybe it says it in the demo review.

  • The name of each street is displayed at the bottom right of the screen as you enter it. During the demo, Niko passed through the following areas: Presidents City, Chinatown, Lancet, Hatton Gardens, Middle Park East, Lancaster, Ruby Street, Cod Row, Denver Avenue, Exeter Avenue, Northwood, East Holland, Silicon Street, Quartz Street, The Triangle, Easton, Diamond Street and Calcium Street.

(Correct me if i'm wrong, but...) Rockstar said while driving your vehicle the street name will appear right above your 'radar/map/GPS'

right?

I think he's right. It would appear on your HUD like if you were playing San Andreas, "Ganton" or "Glen Park" would appear on the screen.

And I also think that the TC ment wether it would appear onscreen ALL the time, or would fade out as you go further into the same street.

  • 2 weeks later...

Ima bump some older threads, I missed this but, DIDN'T True Crime require us to navigate in a highly similar fashion? I did not find it useful to adapt to that system, but I hope R* stays clear of True Crime's methods and maybe there will be nothing to worry about....hmmm

R* confirmed there will be missions where you don't get a dot on the map to follow, you just get an address and its up to you to find it.
