Look at Niko's right foot on the truck. Its bent just like your feet bend in real life. For some reason this is one of the many things that bothers me about games now, they can make a game beautiful, but they leave out the small things that make it feel like you are really there. No, not just your feet bending when you walk etc. but small, "unimportant" details that just help to make the characters come alive. At least to me. Well, its good to see that R* is going all out on this one. biggrin.gif

Yeah, definitely. The new screenshots look great. The graphics really do look super, not just compared to other Gta's. They are definitely up there with any next gen title. I think this proves it.

Yea the graphics are awsome

It looks nice, but I prefer the detail to those pillars in the background, they have that nice sharp edge to them. We'll just have to wait and see on whether all this 'realism' will affect gameplay, as realism may be Rockstar's bigger focus.

lady an man on bench in pic with niko hangin from truck r on phone, nice touch, damn the little things add sooo much

It's going to be even better when we see it all in motion. Merry Christmas. colgate.gif

Most definitely, will be in awe when i see this game in motion, merry xmas

I like how Liberty City seems to have a soft light to it. Like a real sea side city. It's not bright like vicecity, but it adds a lot to the atmosphere. It seems more real with the lighting not as potent like that.

Could'nt agree more mate icon14.gif Hated it in San Andreas where it was overly orange in the evening's.

does look sweet, but not to be a debbie downer or anything but the dashboard doesnt look to great in the truck hope they fixed that

Are you really going to be staring at the dashboard when you're playing the game? confused.gif

no not necessarily but whats the point of making a game with great graphics if your just gonna blur out small parts especially if its like that for every single car interior

If they have the ability to build up on the "unimportant" things when they already (probably) have the important things done... why not? If the designers like the way they built the game then they should make every detail as perfect as they can.

A good point...

but IV isnt trying to push any visual boundaries to begin with. So having something that no one is really going to be seeing anyway look visually stunning seems more of a waste a time than anything else.

I don't know which pictures y'all been looking at... they're pretty rough if you ask me (textures where he's hanging off the truck are pretty bad.. sure, the banner is detailed, but Niko's jacket looks all washed out and don't get me started on the cab interior. One of the shots with the red car is just plain awfull... looks like a texture glitch were only the low-res version loads, like in mass effect)..

and don't give me no crap about beta versions either, in the end, we don't know which builds they used. And beta shots don't HAVE to be uglier than the final game. After they reach beta, they start polishing the game... but that also means cutting stuff to make it run faster, looking at which textures you can make lower-res and how many polygons you can ditch. We've all heard the rumours right before the delay, that framerates were crap (and they were choppy in the new trailers as well). Rumours about the weather system and lighting being to blame. So, it's very much possible they made a beautiful game that was too demanding on hardware and so right now they're looking at what to cut.

There have been no reports of the game reaching the gold status, which means all gameplay features are fixed and nothing will be added or cut.

t any rate, I wouldn't get your hopes up too high for graphics, you will be sorely disapointed. GTA always has been a game in which some thing might look great, but another thing right next to it will look like sh*t. Of course every screenshot you see will focus on the good looking stuff, and they take them from all kinds of angles, except the one you're going to be playing from. Also Euphoria calculates some of the animations on the fly, so that takes more processing power than usual. Also GTA relies heavily on RAM, and both the PS3 and 360 have crappy RAMs.

regardless, it will still kill any other game on the market....

Didn't everybody just say that they love how much the little details add? confused.gif
