Rhoda
Did you feel Vice City Stories could've been done so much better? The potential for this game was enormous, but it let me down personally. Vice City was such a fantastic game and the prospect of revisting this city give me more excitement than GTA IV did. Did anyone else feel let down particularly, and why was this?
Vince_ThePhoenix
So it's a big shame that lot of that personality has gone missing in VCS. Maybe it was the jump to a smaller stage that did them in but the characters and dialogue don't have the same snap nor does the game exhibit the same goofy and utterly loveable 80's style. Instead, the game is gritty and dull to a fault and it doesn't have the same sense of humor that made the past titles so entertaining. What humor there is tends to be painfully blunt--the first four hours are like one long un-funny redneck joke, for example. And while the series has made shady characters likeable in the past, none of the goons in VCS have the flair of Tommy Vercetti.

This stood out to me the most, and I have to agree. To me, VCS didn't feel like a GTA game and is the only one I didn't complete. Perhaps that was overly judgmental of me but I simply got bored, and it lost it's fizz, which wasn't too much in the first place to be honest. Canoxa
That's the thing with reaching a new level of perfection - you can only go down from there. We all knew it wasn't going to be better than Vice (and this applies to SanAn as well). I didn't find it a bad game, personally.
Rhoda
It would've worked so much better without the whole empire building feature. Like Canox said, you can only go so far - I considered the PSP GTA's to be a step sideways. Granted, the achievement was fantastic, squeezing a whole world into a handheld console, but I reckon VCS would've worked so much better without the pressure of empire building. I wanted to see more interiors, I feel bad that they haven't left in the options that you can enter King Knuts or Bars, for example. Tho the vehciles just look so awesome and what really impressed me was the JetSki. VCS is a ver great game in my opinion.
Chickstick
VCS was a very good game on both PSP and PS2, but to me it was still a dissapointment. I know the PS2 version was just a port with a few extra little things in, but it got boring very quickly. True, I still completed it to 100%, but a lot of other similar games, such as Scarface and even Driver: Parallel Lines (though released earlier) kept me playing for longer than VCS. I think it says a lot when I say that as soon as I finished VCS I put GTA III in my PS2 and played that for about two hours.
gtamodder
VCS Was good, but if you compare if to Vice City, then you'll know that Vice City will be better. I felt that the graphics could have been done better, and i didn't like how i could hardly stunt on it, (because i loved stunting with the cheetah and infernus in VC) And it was easy. I wanted to do it in VCS. But i couldn't because the cheetah goes on two wheels easily, and infernus won't roll off roof. So i thought the handlings could have been done better. After i played it for 5 minuites on PS2, I switched it off because i was board and went back to playing VC On pc (which i liked much better)
The Night Fox
VCS was brilliant, it actually had a better atmosphere than old VC, the weather was more realistic, great soundtrack and more gameplay features added to everything that was in Vice City. Vince_ThePhoenix
VCS doesn't had great soundtracks like VC had. I think VC's Flash Fm is still better than VCS's.

The VCS soundtrack is still great, better than LCS's soundtrack, songs like "Blue Monday" and "Heart of Glass" really give the game a vice City feel, and the amont of funny commercials make VC as gaudy and Cheesy as we all remember it from 5 years ago, and I gotta admit, it's unbelievable that old VC is already 5 years old. Safe_Badger
A Bugatti Veyron costs £5Million to make. Yet they are sold for around amillion, only proving that it is possible to go that fast on 4 wheels on the road. Vice City Stories was made to prove that HUGE PS2,XBox and PC game on that big disk, can be put on something alot smaller. Thats big Cd/DVD whatever has just been put on a UMD. They are proving that they are getting a better compression, therefore expect, say, 60GB worth of data on that DVD in your 360. (I'm not a PS3 Hater, just saying XBox has smaller disks bearing in mind I have both and prefer XBox 360) Basically, they did it not to make the money,(however nice that extra bonus they got was) but proving that a big game can be made much smaller. San Andreas Stories, anyone?
unknownmercenary
LCS felt a lot more fresh. I did like the jetskis and air vehicles, and I even got 100% in this game, but it gets boring really quickly.
Canoxa
I still remember the whole 'Stories' controversy. Dan Houser himself admitted that the Stories were a way of keeping the fans entertained and focused on Grand Theft Auto. No matter how much hype GTA4 had, it wasn't able to keeping us going for 8 years. Houser admitted that he wasn't too much of a fan due to the lack of overall feel of improvement. There will be no San Andreas Stories because GTA4 is just around the corner, regardless of the delay.
derty
Oh, I believe SAS is already in development. No more PSP GTA Games? Doubtful. No sources, this is speculation

CthulhuFhtagn
He said it's just speculation. I liked the game, but it was too short and too easy. Yeah... Too many ways to get money...
Algonquin Assassin
VCS was a very good game, but I agree that it was alot more "gritty" than the old VC. It just didn't have, oh I don't know that "thing" VC had. Vic was a great main character, but IMHO Tommy made VC, and he is the best main character in GTA history.
