Ring_of_Fire
If you are recording a game, make sure it supports DirectX/OpenGL. And FRAPS needs to be launched BEFORE you start the game, otherwise it may cause problems! If you are trying to record your desktop, click the Monitor Desktop Windows Manager option in the "FPS" tab for FRAPS.
TwoZero
Download a codec pack, something like K-Lite Codec Pack will do. Downloading codecs with windows media player rarely works. @Ring_of_Fire: what you said is totally unrelated to his problem, recording is working just fine, he just can't play it afterwards. No, if he records his desktop without checking the DWM option - yes it will record, but it won't play afterwards. Try it out and you'll see what I mean. Also, he didn't mention if he is recording a game by the way. Plus, I never downloaded the K-Lite codec pack for FRAPS and I could still record my games on Vista flawlessly and play them afterwards. Ah crap, they must have fixed the bug in the newer releases such as when you try to record your dekstop without the Aero interface enabled. GtaSHB, are you running the most recent version of FRAPS and have you tried existing and reloading it, or even reinstalling it? reaper x550
The only time I've had a problem like this is when my "Fraps Codec" was f*cked, no idea how it happened, but a reinstall worked fine for me.
