IChinamanI Posted December 24, 2007 Share Posted December 24, 2007 Hey guys, I was just wondering if it was possible to get the vortex (hovercraft) in panopticon before you unlck san fierro. I checked today and it wasn't there? Right now I just finished the Los sepulcros mission. I was also wondering about unlimited ammo. I got all 100 tags in LS after the first mission, and I 've been collecting ammo for the weapons that spawn in my house everytime I save. Just recently I noticed that my tec-9 and sawn off shotgun has unlimited ammo? Any explanation for this? And do I lose it, if I lose the weapon? I'm guessing that once you collect a certain amount of ammo for that gun, it gives you unlimited ammo? The last thing I was wondering, was I have my max health experience bar almost all the way up. Does completing the paramedic missions just fill the rest of that bar up, or does it giv you extra health outside the max of the bar? Anyways, thanks in advance. In the unmodified game, none of the vortex spawns are active until you complete the mission "Cut Throat Business." The only way to get it before then is to mod or cheat. Once you shoot enough to get under 10,000 the ammo count will redisplay. The last thing I was wondering, was I have my max health experience bar almost all the way up. Gman8 Posted December 24, 2007 Share Posted December 24, 2007 Re: Unlimited Ammo It should be noted that you (unintentionally) recieve free ammo when you walk into the ammunation shooting ranges to do shooting challenges, but exit before ever completing them. I'm not sure, but I think you have to be further into the game for this to be the case. But anyway, once you get unlimited ammo through the ammunation shooting ranges, it may be next to impossible to lose the ammo after when you've dated Barbara and gotten 100% with her anywhere on your memory card. This is truly unlimited ammo. I basically taped my PS2 button to make CJ try and shoot off all of my M4 ammo. Left the game untouched for 6 hours and it was still unlimited. So I get unlimited ammo for beating those challenges... or? Cause I only have unlimited with the sawn-off and tec-9. I tried getting busted to see if it would still be unlimited after I picked it up again, and to my surprise...no . Tis makes me pissed too cause once I get betrayed by smoke, I lose all my weapons! So how exactly did I end up with unlimited ammo for those two guns anyways? Also can I date barbara at this point in the game? I take it that once you get to a 100 percent with barbara you either have unlimited ammo...or you don't lose your weapons when you get busted? edit: wait so basically I got unlimited ammo (or atleast it seems like it, ie no numbers under gun, and continuous fire does after like 20 mins makes me think that I do) for two of my guns (tec 9+sawn off) after doing a ammu-nation shooting range challenge. Do I have unlimited ammo with those guns or not? And if I do, how do I replicate the effect or do it with other weapons? Struff Bunstridge Posted December 24, 2007 Share Posted December 24, 2007 As far as I know, the Ammu-Nation glitch is quite well-known, and maxes out ammo for some of the guns you're carrying, but not others. Last time I did it, the combat shotgun and Tec-9 I was carrying ended up with unlimited ammo, but the Deagle and M4 didn't. I'm guessing it only works with the guns that are actually in the challenge (pistol, SMGs and shotguns). Obviously, you have infinite ammo for those guns during the challenge, so quickly quitting the challenge before it begins might confuse the programming around those particular weapons. If you begin the challenge, the game will remember what ammo you had before you started, and not confuse the two. Hope that makes sense, kind of confused myself writing it... Incidentally, a lot of the similar types of guns use the same ammo. Trying to get all my weapons up to Hitman stat, I traded my combat shotgun with unlimited ammo for a cop's shotgun so I could get that stat up, and the new shotgun also had infinite ammo. GTA VLSA Posted December 24, 2007 Share Posted December 24, 2007 (edited) Where can i find a vortex i'm finished cut throat business There is a vortex at the shoreside of bayside marina in the upper left area of the map, but whenever you get close to it, since it is a hovercraft and the ground is uneven it will slide into the water and you'll have to sprint to it to catch it. OrionSR Posted December 24, 2007 Share Posted December 24, 2007 If I'm not mistaken, the soonest available Vortex can be purchased from the import/export board. There are lots of maps with the vortex locations marked. I frequent the spawns up by the jump into the upper dam, the Panopticon, and Marina. Don't bother with the vortex in the navy base. But as far as I remember, when it gets in the water, it sinks. There's one in a shack with a Skimmer, East of the Police Officer Girlfriend's house and West of Verdant Meadows Airport. There is one in Santa Maria. folow the water which goes under two small bridges and by the out-door gym and you will get it. There's also a spray tag there.
