Grand Theft Auto London: Re-made?

Who thinks Rockstar should re-make Grand Theft Auto London; but 3D graphics and on other consoles? I certainly do.

I'd like this to become a poll, what do I do?

PM a mod.

But I doubt you'll get a poll, this has been discussed to its death.

Has it? Probably for about half a decade. It's pretty far from a fresh, new idea. Probably belongs in GTA IV forum too.

Which was set out with a bit more professionalism, wouldn't you say?

Actually, being from the UK and all, I've never really felt Rockstar should remake London. GTA just doesn't suit that sort of thing and there isn't much crime over here (at least compared to the U.S. anyway).

I did say compared to the U.S.

England does have its share of crime and even gangs, but only mainly in London.

Those sort of films only tend to show the violence and gang crime, not all places are in the UK are to what's shown in films. Whereas in America, crime is factor basically everywhere.

GTA has always been about wild police chases, explosions, and breaking people out of jail. Where do you see that in England? I guess what I'm trying to say is there is a certain level of crime in England and as a result, we have The Getaway. But GTA is more about cinematic action which you don't get in any England-based crime films (hardly).

If you've lived in England your whole life, you'll know what I mean. It would be boring to get away from the real world just to see it done again on a TV screen. Similar to your ideas on having a GTA set somewhere other than your own country, no doubt.

The point is though that GTA doesn't copy the real world, it never has it takes its basis from crime movies the ones that make out crime to be a wonderful thing full of action and excitement something you want to live within a game. Surely you don't agree that GTA's set in America are faithful to the real thing? So forget your reality of living in England because its not the same one GTA will use in their game.

Oh yes, we have people shooting each other and cars being stolen every minute of every hour, in every single part of the country.

We're not as bad as people think. I know, it's hard to believe, but maybe it's possible that just because it happens in a video game, it doesn't happen in real life. That's just crazy talk though, isn't it?

Beat you Chris. lolstereotypebashing.

I live in a quiet area where the harshest crime you get is pool-popping. And I live in America.

Your logic is flawed.

Of course there is more crime in america, they have 5 times our population.

I'm sure crime is more likely to be a factor 'basically everywhere' here though, seeing as our population is 5 times smaller whereas our country is something like 40 times smaller.

There might not be as much gun related crime here, but there is serious crime everywhere, not just in London.

Drugs and violent crime are a massive problem in all major cities - Birmingham, Manchester etc.

I know here in Nottingham gangs, drugs, murder, violence are all very real problems in certain parts of the city.

I think too many violent games and films have altered your perception of what America is really like.

I don't know where your idyllic view of the UK came from though, because it's nuts.

Good point actually, never thought of it that way. I guess my idea on the crime level in America was solely based on all the movies I watch and how its made out to be. blush.gif I don't really have anything to base my assumptions on how big the level of crime is in the U.S. and how different it is than the U.K., but the one thing I could go by were how more "fitting" American action films seemed for GTA than England-based crime films.

Probably, yes. I've never been to the U.S., so I wouldn't know. Again, just basing my words off of what I've actually seen it to be made out as.

Sorry for those offended by my stereotypical assumptions. tounge.gif I guess I do watch too many action films. Hey, what can you do.

But I still stand by my point in that England would be a bad place to set GTA (in my opinion). Not because of how high or low crime level there is, but because my perception of GTA would probably change seeing as it's always used American-based countries.

I think they should make Grand Theft Auto: Baghdad.

What car's could you steal? But they should remake London on a PSP version just for the hell of it.

Now that's a stereotypical assumption right there. There are plenty of modern-day vehicles in Baghdad as is the same in any middle-eastern country.

But lol @ GTA: London Stories.

Just go and buy The Getaway. There. You have guns, Cars, Gangsters, And the nice old british accent. icon14.gif

Yeah, maybe so but you are forgetting one thing: that game f*cking blows.

I think it would be interesting for them to make another Grand Theft Auto: London game, but I highly doubt it.
