stretch.
1.3 Fiesta Flight = £1489 a year 3rd party f n f, looking to go up to around £2500 a year when I pass. Look at Quinns, or Bell, Don't expect much(if any) customer service from Quinns. Good Luck!
SIP YEK NOD
$40,800 a year here of course, thats for a large truck, trailer, cargo and general liability for my company, but still, a lot of cash down the drain. my personal insurance for my pick-up is only $1092/year before new insurance laws were instituted here, it was $3800/year, so i know how you are feeling
*gta star*
I find it ridiculous to be honest, the price of insurance. It isn't a joke mate, that is the price of it. You don't really see any cheaper insurance premiums until you are 21 to be honest, and gather a few no claims.
kevin2006rhs
$505...for 6 months. My truck had to be put back on because the guy who was gonna buy it never paid up. So I have my Titan and my Grand Prix. Poth paid off so I just run liability on the both of them. It kinda helps when you dont have any crashes on your record, no tickets, and such. JayC
I am paying £650 a year on a Toyota Yaris 1.3. Fully Comp. I was paying £870 for 10 months on Admiral for a 1.25 Ford Fiesta. Third Party. Before that it was about £300 to be a second driver on a 1.4 VW Golf. Third Party. I have 1 years NCB and 3 points for running a red. I am also 20 years old. Insurance is bollocks. It is a Government sponsored racketeering ring. Looking forward to paying at least £1000 for a merc/lexus when I turn 21.
Suction Testicle Man
An old car will reduce premiums. My campervan cost me £2.5k for a year on third party when I was 18, and I had to tell them I was a chippie to even get them to sign the deal. When I got my Cortina a year later it cost me £1.3k for a year on comprehensive, except it's a 2 litre. I've already lost my no claims for this year yet they want me to renew for £1.2k. No bargain, but worth the extra £300 over the 997c '93 Micra we have. If at first you don't succeed, you fail, and the test will be terminated. Digïtál £vîl
I pay $126.50 a month. A pain, but not much by my standards.
Picolini
I pay about $90 a month for liability, I've got a POS so it wouldn't be worth it for full coverage. That comes out to about $1100 a year. Not too bad. When I get a new car I'm hoping to only pay about $300 per month for full coverage....
Dup
£1500 for the Type-R @ 22 with two fault accidents and 4 years with a full driving license, no points/demerits on my license. First thing to do, don't bother with online comparison sites like confused. They are a f*cking piss take. Best thing to do is use them to find the top 10 companies then go call each one individually, you will find there's a great difference in prices and when you find the two cheapest. Play them off each other, ask them what they can offer and tell them x company can give you breakdown or whatever and see if they'll match it with the better price etc.
*gta star*
Yeah, that's true, better off to shop around. It's like if you go onto some insurance websites and get a quote, they say "If you buy online, you get a 10% discount", I think that's bollocks to be honest because my brother got his insurance off a company (Norwich Union), and it was the same price, and he payed for it online? Cran.
I.. don't have any insurance Well, all I've got is 3rd party property. I doubt any company would bother to insure a 1985 Nissan Bluebird. Not going to bother with comprehensive insurance until buy a proper car, and even then, it'll probably be under my parents name until it's practical for me to put it under my own. @xBRABUSx I'm sure, because your 'daddy' is so rich, blah, blah etc. Edited December 25, 2007 by Cran. epoxi
Get your mum insured on the car with Direct Line, then get insured on her plan: it should be much cheaper (even though you're insuring two people). Important thing is that you can work up a no claims bonus despite not being the main driver: after a year premiums should fall a lot. And then of course continue to fall rapidly again once your reach 21. Unfortunatley you can't argue with high insurance prices considering 1 in 3 driving 17 year olds have an accident in their first year of driving. Of course that won't mean that you are a bad driver, but the insurance companies can't tell boy racers from responsible people easily: so they have to assume we're all going to crash. stretch.
@ Epoxi, I work for Direct Line, well, Green Flag, who are owned by DL, and I can say, that that is true... to an extent. You earn a no-claims, true, but only with direct line, and it's not as much as if you had your own policy, normally only knocking 1 or 2 hundred off your renewal quote on your own car. Well, that is if you renew with them. And they're expensive... even with an employee discount. Try Pay as You Drive It's what I'll be doing! Dup
I'd rather pay double the premium than have big brother watching me!
stretch.
Same here dup, but when you're being quoted like £4k for 3rd party F n F, you sometimes have to accept big brother into your life. It's a sad life huh
*gta star*
Yeah. I'm going to go onto my dad's fleet insurance, he owns a civil engineering company, and all his vehicles are insured in one policy, I can join that.
epoxi
I'm not bothered about Big Brother: what exactly could anyone do with Pay As You Drive details...even if it got into the wrong hands? Unless you're a drug dealer or spy (pretty unlikely), people knowing where you are doesn't matter: it's pretty easy to work out if you wanted to anyway. It also helps to have a GPS system in your car: if it gets stolen, you can recover it in a matter of hours (or maybe even minutes!). One disadvantage however, is that your speed can be calculated using this GPS system, and they could theoretically withdraw your policy if you speed. I guess it's still not a bad deal, considering you are supposed to be driving safely anyway . Besides, it's only for a couple of years. In Dubai you have to have a black box in your car, installed by the goverment, because of how dangerously they drive there (think rich kids in Ferraris and SUVs). A while ago I saw Jeremy Clarkson in Dubai showing these 18 year olds tipping over their Land Cruiser so they could light a match on the floor and use it for their cigarettes. Then again, we aren't Dubai, and we're a much more diverse and liberal country (America too). EDIT: LOLOLOLOL Look at these conditions to join Pay As You Drive... To save you time we base your quote on some assumptions, please confirm that you meet these criteria You are a UK resident, the registered owner of the car to be insured, intend to keep this car for a period of at least 3 months, and are the main driver Your car is kept in England, Scotland or Wales ... No driver of the car is a professional sports person, actor, actress, model, circus / fairground worker or anyone connected with the entertainment industry ... Your car is not an Audi A8 Actuaries make me laugh. Edited December 28, 2007 by epoxi
swolo yaggins
lol I called USAA a month ago to find out how much insurance would be for a '94 Explorer Eddie Bauer with 77k miles. $1200 a year. *gta star*
That's stupid, really stupid. I thought the same too, that your insurance should go down as you get older because you are gaining more experience, usually getting better at driving aswell, or more confident on the road at least. You tried ringing other insurance companies to see what they say?
stretch.
More people your age crash is one reason why it could be going up. But yer, insurance sucks!
Cran.
The thing thats really sad is that there isn't any government regulation to any insurance companies. It doesn't matter whether its health care or car insurance, you are gonna get screwed either way. When I turned 16 I got a '01 gti vr6, cost me about $1200 a year. But for some reason, when I turn older, the insurance company bumps my rate for no reason. They increased it when I turned 17, 18, and now the just increased it when I turned 19 a couple of weeks ago. WTF? I'm paying $1450 a year now, even though I have a perfect driving record with no tickets. I thought the older I get, the less I'm supposed to pay. You should probably consider changing insurance companies..

bananabis
paying $840 a year on a Slowica (18 years old). Seems like pennies compared to what you guys pay. Then agn, my family all have spotless driving records.

The insurance companies do this for one reason; They love leeching off the young people. @crazydude: The only reason middle-aged people pay less: They can afford it{and they're actually more dangerous overall too, with the drunk driving, road rage and sh*t, even with teenagers having the most minor accidents of any age group}. Ironic, eh?
