jebness
Before the usual "OMFG BIN DISKUSED ALRDY" (http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=303087&hl=cars+explodeing) this is a kinda different question I saw this topic on the gta place forums, and thought that we could do with one here. Do you think cars should still catch fire and blow up if upside down in the new gta to be more (brace yourselfs) realistic? I think its just somthing that needs to be carried on in gtas, because it just wouldn't be gta if it wasnt there. Discuss
Kelao
Do you think cars should still catch fire and blow up if upside down in the new gta to be more (brace yourselfs) realistic? Y'know, not all upside-down cars end up exploding. I for one would like to see it gone. And a better animation for crawling out of upside-down cars would be sweet. Deuce Deuce
As people always say, "realism to a certain extent." GTA has never really been about realism; this time Rockstar are just adding features to add to the realism. It's still GTA, so most things will carry on in IV such as cars exploding after flipping over.

Lifestyles of The Cool
The only reason the cars explode in the first place, is so they want just sit there useless.
Macauley
Wasn't the reason that they blow up all the time is for an excuse for having a tiny draw distance? I heard that somewhere. It makes sence in a programming way.

They blew up because Rockstar figured once they rolled you weren't going to use them anymore, so it catches fire and blows up, which saves some resources because the vehicle is no longer drivable. If you can't be bothered reading all that... Pretty much what Lifestyles of The Cool said.

I forget where i heard it, but im 100 percent sure they said cars wont explode just because they flipped over on the roof anymore.
The Night Fox
I think they shouild explode and become damaged the same way, I really think they should leave some stuff the same, they don't HAVE to overhaul the entire Game.

Mr. Someguy
I hope cars are resistant to bullets this time. I hate it when I'm in the middle of the road and my only cover blows up because there was a cop with a shotgun...
KillerKabel
God I hated that... In SA, when you just got a wicked LowRider, and you used hydralics when cornering, your car gets up side down, and booom, wasted money... I don't want it to be blink 4 times and then you are on track again, cuz that's gay, but I do want to be able to get out, and then roll it over myself... lee1989
i hope it stays, it adds to the intesity of a chase (well i think so) ....but is it just me or do the explosions look kinda sh*ty in the trailers, now this being the nex gen, graphicaly enhanced GTA, i think these should look alot better. YourNeighborhoodKiller
I have two reasons why cars should NOT blow up if upside down. 1.You will be able to see the impact longer. And see the car totally smashed. 2.It would be unrealistic for the car to just blow up after 4 sec of the car being upside down. But say in case the car spells gasoline while upside down, then I guess it could blow up.
CryptReaperDorian
I hope cars don't always blow up when on fire it's just so repetitive. I mean a car barely falls a low edge and tips over in which damage should be quite minimal and yet it blows up. But with the GTA IV I don't think it would easy to push a car like in the previous games where you don't easy much strength and yet the car moves. Xboxless
They could at least make it to wheir gasoline comes out and burns on the ground and just roasts the car not explodes unless gas tank shot at or something.
