JonnyVercetti
Sorry if this has been mentioned before but, I heard you could kill off the storyline characters and everything, it would have consequnces etc etc. But what made me think is, When your on a mission with them, going around shooting people what happens when you accidently kill them when you dont want them dead? I done this alot with Lance, ryder and all that. What happens then? when you want them to be your allies then you accidently run them over or shoot them? Sorry if this has been discussed. HAZER blade
Yeah seem's pretty complicated to me i dont how they will do it. Does'nt that mean you could kill Roman early in the game and then what or maybe it will stay the same kill em and they'll be back at their place safe and sound. either way it will still be enteresting. j0rkeh
Yeah I was thinking about this yesterday, when you kill a character will you fail the mission or will the storyline continue with consequences.

ceedot
I think that, if that happens, and you actually loose that character, then I guess you have to be careful. I don't see how this could work out though... There would have to be millions of different mission outcomes. I think they will just be alive... Jabalous
No Way , your mission will fail , because the console can not create a new story if you kill a main character . anyway , Rockstar North Gives the player the freedom in the story , it depends on the destiny , you do what you want to do . ryuclan
I don't think the key characters will be able to die. Only the side characters like Lil Jacob who may give you a few missions but never really get too involved in the story. Besides if you do kill someone that you really need, can't you just load up the saved game??

I read somewhere (will try to find a link) that killing Lil Jacob is possible, it will just make getting guns even harder.
YourNeighborhoodKiller
I'm sure it will be the same as the previous games, where you would kill the person, it would say, "Misson Failed, You Killed Ect" and then just go over and do the mission again, and the person would still appear. Ye. Think about it, they can make aspects of the game realistic, but not the whole game! Having them dead after they die would just be too complicated. Magic_Al
San Andreas gives a clue to how accidental main character deaths could be prevented. In SA your girlfriends can die, but they start with very high health and it's very hard to kill them accidentally. That said, I agree it's unlikely a main character death could lead to much besides a failed mission. A branching storyline that allowed main characters to die early would be far too complex and ultimately pointless. If there are dead ends in the story, you have to replay over and over to find all the paths. You go through a lot of repetition to find the new stuff. It might as well be linear (with some choice of what order to do things in) without the repetition. The big change I want is a way to continue to interact with storyline characters after the end of the story. I hate it in San Andreas that CJ builds all these friendships and family ties and then there's absolutely no way to see any of those characters after the story ends. They should be available around the map to do repeatable missions with, like CJ's girlfriends are, and you should be able to pick them up to ride around with you instead of only being able to get random gang members and hookers. It's not right that all the important people just disappear forever. It would be great too if improving your stats beyond the storyline would unlock additional bonus storyline or character vignettes. NoSkillz187
Well i know i read somethin about you callin people up to hang out. I believe R* said you can relationships. Not sure if it is to that extent. And i know i read somethin about playing minigames while hangin out with Lil jacob. So maybe. But if you kill them while hangin out, what would happen? Would they warp back to wherever they live, and it will be like nothing happened? I seriously doubt they would be dead and thats it. I mean, the realism has to end somewhere. fishermanGTA
I see no reason why killing them would result in them going back to their houses like nothing had ver happened. You could kill Roman. Thats it. The bad guys stop comming after you, missions stop going forward. The game effectivly ends. All the more reason to load and not kill him. You can always load if you don't like what happens, such as killing a main character and having a HUGE part of the game skipped.

I imagined this situation: once you can replay the mission as an option, when the character is important for the storyline, it may be something like this: COMMON MISSIONS Mission failed. Try again? * Yes * No MISSIONS WITH MAIN CHARACTERS Idunnowho was killed. What to do? * Try again * Continue as it is If you choose second option, you must face the consequences.
