In honor of the baby jesus/santa claus we're giving you the release date! Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!" just doesn't seem their style to me. I wouldnt have thought so, we thought they would release something like news on the status of the game back on October 16th but we got nothing instead so I doubt they feel they should rush a release date for christmas. Whats so special about christmas that wasnt special about October 16th or any other day of the week anyway? And i remember someone saying in another thread that they think we'll get a release date by the end of the year - well they've got 9 days left...Christmas would be an obvious idea.
