Ring_of_Fire
I have Windows XP Professional SP2 and Windows Vista Home Premium on my hard drive, so I am able to dual-boot and help anybody that has issues with Vice City running on those 2 OSes. It can be either a graphic, sound, gameplay, display/audio/controls, error message, or a crashing issue. *HOW TO INSTALL* It's VERY simple and won't waste your precious time! Go here http://messenger.msn.com/ to download MSN Live Messenger onto your computer. Log in to your .NET passport (hotmail e-mail address), add this contact ([email protected]) by clicking on the "Contacts" tab, and then select the "Add a contact..." menu option from the drop-down list. You can go ahead and spam it up, obviously I have another e-mail address for real-life purposes. All you have to do now is this... Click on "Request remote assistance..." Now select the Ring_of_Fire contact, click OK, and that's it! NOTE: This is absolutely nothing risky! Anything harmful that you think I would do to "damage" your computer can be reversed by using System Restore. Also, you can plug out your ethernet cable or simply boot me from the network. If you are up for it - I recommend doing so. If the person's issue has not been resolved, anybody can post their Hotmail email address that they don't use often (or make a new one just for this thread) to see if they can solve the problem. Start posting below here now to explain your issue and then follow the necessary information above to get help... Ring_of_Fire
WTF is this doing in VC forum? It's in the GENERAL PC CHAT and it's about troubleshooting issues for Vice City on PC. This is the correct place and should not go in Tech & PC Chat nor the VC Troubleshooting forums! Please don't spam this thread unless you want to GET help, or if you want to post your e-mail address to PROVIDE help! Err...you don't need msn for this, What do you need then? You can still update this thread with your other methods. You quickly edited your post I see... UPDATE *REMOTE ASSISTANCE VIA FILE!* Windows XP: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library...57004.aspx#EFAA Windows Vista: Click the Windows button on the taskbar -> All Programs -> Maintenance -> Windows Remote Assistance. Click "Invite someone you trust to help you" and then "Save this invitatation as a file". Now email this file to one of our e-mail addresses posted already in this thread. *REMOTE ASSISTANCE VIA IP ADDRESS!*For this method, please go to http://whatismyipaddress.com/ or http://www.ip-adress.com/ and tell us what your IP address is. That's all you have to do for us to get connected to your computer.Oh well, I think this thread was supposed to go in the Troubleshooting forums, even though PS2/Xbox gamers can also post in there. Can a mod please move this? Justin
Please don't spam this thread unless you want to GET help Point in case. Forums are used for discussing and we've had a successful Troubleshooting forum for years. There's no need to relocate such discussion to external locations and in fact this would be detrimental as the idea of a forum is that information is kept so it is readily available by those who wish to search/browse. Your individual IM conversations are, of course, not. As long as you continue to provide help to those who post topics here requesting it (and even if you don't), this Remote Assistance service, while provided with the best of intentions I'm sure, is useless.
