Girish 3,772
Are your sound drivers up-to-date? If not, update them.
gtamodder 8
I had a problem similar on my old PC, Delete the [.set] file located in My Documents\GTA Vice City User Files. If that doesn't work, update your sound card drivers as girishb has said, then after updating them delete the [.set] file.
DemonSeeker 0
Drivers are updated but still sound is snapping. I've deleted set file and again, the sound is snapping.

Ring_of_Fire 12
No only GTA series, this maybe be interesting. I have GTA3, VC, SA and in all that games sound is snapping. What do i need to do to stop that freakin' snappin? (Is this some kind of GTA curse?) Updating your drivers should have helped. Plus you didn't mention what your sound card is nor your system specs. Please head on over to http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=304247 where the first thing I am going to try is to set the hardware acceleration for your sound card to BASIC. Is this some kind of GTA curse?) It's just you. I have sound working on the GTA's, so why did you say that? Edited December 20, 2007 by Ring_of_Fire

Ring_of_Fire 12
Make sure to delete [.set] file and turn off compatibility mode. If it was off, then turn it on. If it was on, then turn it off. Also, set the hardware acceleration to Basic -> http://www.sierra-collector.com/thumbs/dxdiag.gif C-Media Audio Device Download http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-142.zip and tell us your chipset info after installing it and then clicking on the "Mainboard" tab. Ring_of_Fire 12
Try downloading and installing both of these drivers to see which one helps, and then delete [.set] file. ASRock: http://download.asrock.com/drivers/VIA/Aud...46_build02).zip C-Media: http://www.cmediadrivers.info/driver/UDA/0...n98seme2kxp.zip If it still doesn't help then: Make sure to delete [.set] file and turn off compatibility mode. If it was off, then turn it on. If it was on, then turn it off. Also, set the hardware acceleration to Basic -> http://www.sierra-collector.com/thumbs/dxdiag.gif
