Adriaan Posted December 18, 2007 Share Posted December 18, 2007 (edited) About a minute ago, Ben Feder, CEO of Take-Two, said during the year-end conference call that episodic content will be releasing in fiscal 2009 (Nov. 2008 to October 2009), in addition to episodic content releasing in 2008. Release date still remains as Q2 2008. (Feb. - April.) Update: When a question during the Q&A session was put forward about whether GTA IV might release on the Wii, Ben Feder commented: "There are other titles better suited for the Wii than Grand Theft Auto IV". Update 2: A question was put forward about the release date of GTA IV being already confirmed internally. Strauss Zelnick basically answered that they're just confirming today that it'll hit the shelves during fiscal Q2, and that he doesn't want to interfere with the marketing plan for the game, and that he's basically "said everything about it". Mm... seems like they have a set release date "internally". Update 3: It was revealed that typically they would submit content for classification to the Australian territory prior to all the other territories, and that they can still alter the game - so it does not mean the VERY FINAL build was submitted to Australia. I think they need to place enough time between them. So IV could be pushed back to the very beginning of Q2, or maybe just the episodic content to the very end of 2008, like for Christmas. EDIT: then add the "australian" question, where game is submitted before than in other countries, in order to have enough time to make changes if necessary. That means IV is in its final release, or very close to it (that's my point of view). My speculations, as usual, waiting for an official release date. EDIT: when they first released technical specifications of Wii, everybody was asking how that machine could compete in the console market, until they saw the controller. Infact Wii games have very simple graphics. I never thought for a moment that IV would be ported into Wii. I find it a very stupid question... ! I'm sure R* is trying to get it out asap, but they're not going to release a glichy game in march, when they could release a perfect one in april.] i've heard people in another topic saying they think because of marketing they won't do february... i understand the logic, and i can see taketwo trying sh*t like that... but I try to have faith that R* is the kinda company that doesn't give a sh*t about that kind of thing and wants to make its fans happy.
