Create maps and spawns on them

Here i have got a tutorial for begginers about mapping amd coding.

 

Lets get started:

 

Open you map editor. it will show you this screen:

Hit ok. Then select an ipl FIRST and then your scene. It must be the same ipl otherwise you will get an error.

 

Here:

Select your scene and press render. ( I selected LaW.ipl)

 

So, you have the map of gta in fron of you. Lets start placing.

 

Lets place a big road over the pier. Right-click with your mouse and press "new". Then find the id 4108. Dont forget to click the "id" box befor that.

 

Ok, you have now the road ready. Try to place him like this:

Ok, now find the id 4142. Like this.

And try to put him like this. after then right-click again and press "dublicate" (select the object firts)

Now there are not numbers in rotations fields (dunno why) anyway try to drag the Rotation Z to right until you've got this result:

Ok, the road is ready. Lets put something on it. First find "id" 6959.

and try to put it in center (the hole)

Then? Put your imaginaton to work. My resault is this:

You can only do working spawns with .scm... It's pretty easy (weapon example):

 

 

032B: $(blahblah) = create_weapon_pickup #(WEAPON NAME OR ID) group 15 (to be available always) ammo (number here) at (coords)

That's not entirely true. I can place cars, weapons, markers, all kinds of stuff in IPL files.

 

I do recommend you do the SCM method, though, and instead just do your IPL placements for development and see what saves/doesn't save (need a save to make IPL stuff stay).

 

Here's some placements:
