the mod is in someway affected by the power of the video card? mine is 32 mb, perhaps i need a 64 or 128 mb Video Card

Yes, it depends heavily on the power of your gfx card. Not just the amount of vram either, but the type of gpu, ram it uses, etc.

 

The actual final 0.3 is delayed a bit longer, as i'm overly ambitious (hey, i admit it). However, i did say there would be a 0.3 release this week, so here is a 0.3 pre-release test version for everyone. Hopefully you can all at least get in the game, and change video modes, etc. That alone is worth the update if it works right.

Limitations:

-no post effects

-building code works, but only under pipe type 0, or 3.

-water mark in upper left corner

-whatever bugs you find

 

Once that stuff is sorted out, there will be a proper .3 release, where i change the topic title, add a normal download, remove the watermark, etc.

 

Notes:

The config file is in the extra_resources folder. i changed it at the last second, don't think i updated the readme file.

Should be fixed now.

 

One new feature, that was surprisingly easy to implement, was ps2-style refmaps, under pipetype 0. It uses the specdot image from vehicle.txd, just as the ps2 does..

Under the other pipe types, this image is used as a normal map, so it is limited to pipe 0.

sorry for being the fisrt complain, i can't make it work, SA crashes even before load the main menu, i tried with all the pipetypes and replaced the vehicles.txd, with SA running with mods ,and without mods, with administrator permissions and every compatibility mode, with all the updates of directx, with all the Net.Framework Updates, with some graphic debuggers from intel website... all i had in mind... i can't see why while i can test ENB series with no problem, i can't use your mod, nor with real reflections or cubemaps, nothing works!!!!, i give up, no more attempts.

You have a 32mb integrated graphics card, which i have to assume is ancient. The mod attempts to compile all the shaders, whether they will be used or not. thats sh*tty on my part, but it will cause the mod to crash if your card doesn't support sm3 or higher.

 

Speaking of which, there is a shader log that gets created every time the game is run, its in the extra_resources folder; "shader_log.txt".

 

One more thing, i cannot stress this enough, it WILL, guaranteed, for a fact, crash if you are not using the correct exe - Shark/Stefan188. See the readme files for..."details". This is a 1.00 exe - if you're downgrading from a 1.01, 2.00 or 3.00 exe, you'll also need to backup and delete your .set files (<your documents>\Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files).

 

Made one more change; removed mipmaps from the dynamically created cubemap, as they could cause crashing on older cards that don't support mipmapped cubemaps. Re-download if you suspect this is causing a crash or error. Link is the same.

 

If anyone gets it to work on an integrated graphics card, please post which card it is, especially the Intel ones.

 

If the game crashes, let me know what screen it crashes on (different crash locations signify different problems).

The two crash types i'm aware of are:

-immediately after exe is launched. typically directx-related.

or

-on the credits screen, just before the menu loads. typically engine/exe related (also means the custom directx stuff worked)

Edit: Hell no, it doesn't work. I've disabled all the old asi files, used the exe you said, but the game doesn't load. It flashes the nVidia mark and then the EAX thing before it quits without any errors.

 

Wait... the game somehow loads extremely fast, without your mod. I once patched the exe so i didn't have to wait long, but this is another exe. I'll re-install everything later this day.

i need to narrow this down:

This is a d3d9.dll, that doesn't do anything, except create a font, and display the text in the upper corner. it doesn't read the config file, it doesn't change anything in the game, and it doesn't create any other resources. if this doesn't work, something is seriously f*cked up.

overwrite the one thats already present. remember, this dll is just supposed to display the text in the corner - nothing more.

Well...

 

I tried the second .dll you put up and the text DOES show and still crashes after the first 2 screens... The text was also visible with the full release and the game closed in the same spot. You receive no error messages btw.

 

Also, my GTA is basically unmoded with a (I think) cracked American v1.0 ".exe".

Of course... PoV Gefore 8800GT, 512mb, under beta 180. drivers (downloaded them sometime ago for FarCry2)

Under window vista home SP1, 3gb ram, quadcore q6600 at 2,4..

Dexx, I tried the last d3d9 who you put here and it don't works.

Funny, the version 2a works correctly here, but the lastest version don't works!

Have something real wrong here, huh?

Maybe if you try to make an .asi file again it works?

I don't know... I'm just saying.

@ Jost - Is it the same version he uploaded today or an earlier version?

 

Also, what version of SA .exe are you using (crack?).

its this version, downloaded from his post, you can see the red text wink.gif

 

I'm using a hoodlum version, modified to have more than spanish and english languages (a little edit I made with a russian tool)

This is what happens:

Double click @ exe file

Screen goes black

nVidia mark appears

EAX mark appears [both appear quicker than normal]

screen goes black

back to teh folder.

cry

 

Edit: Tried the other DLL, game doesn't load but the message is lol.

And with me:

*Turn on PC

*Click My compter>C:\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\gta_sa.exe

*Error:gta_sa.exe stops running, 1 option:

-Close program.

*I close the program and try again, nothing happens.

*I kicked and punched the CPU like 14 times but still not working...

Why??I just kicked and punched the PC!And everytime I do this the PC works!!!And I can run lastest version... DexX, have something wrong here.

Dexx, can you make not in dll, but in asi? With asi, version 0.2 and 0.2a works correctly. Maybe this is problem.

Yeah, I said it too...

If I have a 64mb card and it works on 0.2a, why not works on this version?

And I have the d3d9.dll from Gostown, who add so cool stuff in my GTA...

So, why you didn't try make it on an asi file?
