But are those decent replacements? I haven't really played the mod so I can't really tell. So the weapons are still the same? (M16 is a norma 16 and not some H&K AR... Uzi is a normal uzi and not some MP5 which doesn't fit in that slot).

The only weapons which are different are the Bat (which is now a crowbar) and the AK47, which looks like a modern assault rifle now. All the other weapons are the same as the original, but HD.

And colt 45 is glock 17

Found a bug on the Infernus, it may be another of the countless game bugs GTAIII has but when you look at the Infernus from the side the headlights disappear.

Yep, another of gta3's bugs. Any surfaces behind a transparent object (window, headlight lens) will disappear when you look at it from a sharp angle.

 

I don't tend to notice it too much. When you're driving an Infernus it's better to look forward than to the side tounge.gif

Btw 1TUFSS, i just tried your overhaul mods and omg ive never seen such a beautiful enviorment, not only bringing the old cars to life but especially OnePieces MasterPieces!

sometimes i think to myself, it cant be GTAIII lol

Sorry to double post, but I've got a few ideas for OnePiece when he comes around to redoing a few of the cars.

 

ESPERANTO

 

- Make a vinyl roof for it as an extra. Give it carcols (using secondary colour) so we can change the colour (white, tan, grey, black, etc.)

 

- Add some wheel covers - as an extra too. However, make 2 sets of wheelcovers as extras - one using body colour, other using secondary carcols colour (so it will be the same colour as the vinyl roof, if there is one on the vehicle.

 

BANSHEE

 

- Give it a roof as an optional extra.

 

Also, I noticed that the rear spoiler of the Infernus has no reflections...

 

Do your cars have petrol caps?

I don't think that a roof would suit the Banshee, but it could be good. at least for me, Vipers are supposed to be Roadsters.

A lot of Vipers are hardtops - pretty much every Viper made from 1991 to 2000 had a removable hardtop. Seeing as gta3 is set in 2001, it makes sense to have a hard roof as an extra.

 

Plus it adds more variety.

So far Ive updated the banshee, idaho, stallion, diablo stallion, bobcat, kuruma, and infernus. Only 7 left, but the earliest cars required the most work so it should be done soon.

That Banshee looks sleek as.

 

Try and fix the exhaust/headlight/taillight dummies too, because they currently don't really match up - the exhaust gas on the Sabre, for example, actually occurs behind the pipe... position them exactly in the middle of the pipe. Same with the headlights/taillights.

Yeah theyre all fixed, about the roof on the esperanto, another problem with gta3 is that specular doesnt work on extras, making and sort of paint job on an extra look like crap, but Ill have a roofless esperanto in San andreas.

 

Also, Ive made that weird thingy on the back of the banshee an extra as well, so there will be a few different types driving around Liberty.

And by the roof I mean, make a VINYL roof (like on the Yardie Lobo) as an extra for the Esperanto. Use the texture from the Stallion's vinyl roof but bleach it out so it'll be white (if it's black, just invert the colours). It won't need reflections, so it should work properly... it'll make a good extra, it fits the Esperanto's Cadillac theme.

Yeah, thats why theres no reflection on the spoiler on the infernus.

 

But if I have a vinyl roof on the Esperanto, that means the regular roof will have to be an extra aswell, meaning no reflections.

Simple. Just float the vinyl roof over the regular one. Burner did this trick when he was doing his '70 Chevelle SS454... worked brilliantly, reflections AND a vinyl roof as an extra.

 

To clarify... simply model a second roof and position it slightly above the original, then set it as an extra. Give it the Stallion's vinyl texture (hoping that it's white or grey). If it's black, simply open it in Photoshop, then click 'Invert'. Then set it carcols-compatible if you can.

Put a shotgun in the middle (you know between the driver and passenger seat)... from what I know that's something typical in American police cars (especially the 'classic' remington shotgun).

 

Also to keep the GTA atmosphere, a pack of Rusty Brown Ring's Donuts... (in the backseat/on the dashboard) and maybe a case of Sprunk.

 

And again, can anyone please help me to get GTAIII/Vice City to work with vista... I've tried everything.

 

Come on, there must be some Vista users out there playing GTAIII/Vice City too?!

Also to keep the GTA atmosphere, a pack of Rusty Brown Ring's Donuts... (in the backseat/on the dashboard) and maybe a case of Sprunk.

 

And again, can anyone please help me to get GTAIII/Vice City to work with vista... I've tried everything.

Im not sure Police Cruisers with Laptops have Shotguns as well as the room would be extremely limited but if you make the Laptop and Shotgun as an extra so it changes would be sweet, i would definately recommend using the stock Shotgun from the game for realism (even though its a SPAZ) or importing the one from San Andreas as the Long Barreled Pump-Action Shotgun is the one the real Police uses.

Also when it has this screen between the front and back, you should probably remove the doorhandles on the inside of the backdoors so crooks cant escape smile.gif

 

PS: id hate to be the crook in the backseat as theres no legroom at all lol.
