I wrote some poetry shortly after a horrible situation I went through a few months back. It's different, has a very dark meaning behind it, but I figured I'd post it since I've had some people tell me they found it interesting...

 

 

 

My Best Friend Vengeance

 

I am lost...

 

What does one man do when faced with such a decision? I have come to a cross road in my life and feel myself slipping down a path in which I’m unsure what will result. Only thing I’m confident in is that once I start I cannot turn back, and my choice will either become the answer to achieving my dreams, or destroy me through haunting memories of angry regret.

Vengeance is my best friend.

 

I’ve encountered her before in my life, but through warning I have stayed clear of her seductive embrace.

 

But Vengeance is patient, never beckoning, the best kind of friend one could have, and has waited for me to come around on my own.

 

Vengeance is my closest companion.

 

Supports me in my cause, and motivates me to do better.

 

As others simply spit words at me she kicks me up from my slump to get me going, forcing me to continue on my quest for greater futures.

 

I trust only her and she relies fully on me, for she could be gone if I willed it.

 

Vengeance is my lady, the fall back to pick me up, when the worst kind of sh*t has me down on my luck.

 

I’ll rely on her till death, for she’s the keeper of my darkest secrets and co-conspirator in my plans for selfish satisfaction.
