SWEETSAPRIK
Somebody's mind went to anal pretty quick. *cough* Anyway, is anyone running this on an older system? That "can you run it" thing from systemrequirementslab.com says I meet the requirements, but I'm not sure how much I trust that, I mean my PC is old as sh*t. Also, my graphics card (ATI Radeon 9700 TX 128M TV-Out, old as hell) is suspiciously missing from the list on the spore specs page, even though older cards are listed. [http://www.spore.com/what/specs_spore] I'd like to hear if anybody still running that POS graphics card got spore to run. I'm considering forgetting for a second that SecuRom is the single most invasive, sh*ttiest, buggiest, DRM ever, but only because I really want to play this game. PяopagaиdaIиc. freak2121
I f*cking hate the space stage, it's just too hard.I had to Alt F4 so the my home planet wouldn't be destroyed.I hate the space stage.
Vin.
Can someone explain what this SecuRom business is? I could go google it, but I get such better answers to my questions here. I'm only asking because of got some 'copies' of a few other EA games on my computer, and I don't want my computer f*cked because I installed Spore. Someone tell me whats going on! freak2121
You get 3 activations(installs) changing your hardware means you need another activation, formatting means you used another activation so you have to call EA to get your activations back or buy a new copy. GTA3Freak-2001
As fun as the game is I wouldn't recommend anyone buy the game at all even if you are ready to accept the DRM crap because the game is full of bugs, gltiches, crashes, freezes and graphical corruptions. I basically can't even play because I can have the game crash and cause my PC to restart at any time, its purely random. I should already of expected this from EA! Did they even play test at all!? What was the delay for then?

In addition to what freak2121 mentioned, previously releases of SecuRom were buggy and they have caused people problems. For example, I use something called sysinternals process explorer (a kind of advanced task manager) and previous games with SecuRom refused to run if that program had been run since boot. Really sh*t since I had it set to run at startup, and had no idea what was causing the problem. A few weeks later enough other people had the problem that they mentioned "hey if you're using this, it's the reason your game refuses to run." There are some other (bigger) problems people have had with it also, for me it really came down to the idea that they didn't care if the game worked, or if it f*cked up my PC, they had their money. Anyway, since then I haven't installed any EA games, and uninstalled all the ones I did have. Although if you have a few other EA games from the last few years, you likely already have it on one or more of those. PяopagaиdaIиc.
agent17
I still haven't got Spore yet, I'm still debating over things such as SecuROM and compatibility issues which seem all too common. I know a lot of people are having random crashes, or crash when they enter the game, or enter space. If the game doesn't run the way it should I'm going to demand my money back. JonnyVercetti
This game was way over hyped, but it's still fun. my Fav stages are: Cell Stage Tribal Stage Civilisation stage The other two were boring.. Also, if you delete this securom thing then will Spore will be able to play? :S
freak2121
I liked all the stages up to civ and space, those 2 kind of bored me.

Good luck with that, most stores won't let you return it because of the online activation. Anyway I've worked out that it wasn't Spore which was to blame for my crashes and freezes. It was actually Vista that was to blame, yeah big surprise there Luckily I have an XP partition handy, too bad I've wasted 2 of the 3 installs to find this out but on XP no crashes at all! Still I am miffed about this DRM crap, If I need to reinstall windows I' am going to use up my last install of Spore and then it simply becomes an expensive drink coaster! Anyway I managed to get to Tribal stage, Creature stage was alright just a bit of a grind reminding me of early times within World of Warcraft. One thing I am annoyed at though is the inability to exclude all Maxis content. I want user's creations, sure I've seen and eaten other creations I've made but that's about it. Have you tried giving them a call? They should log the times when it's installed so they might be able to give you at least one of them back. ~ Proud Supporter of the Child's Play Charity! | GTANET + Child's Play ~
Deuce Deuce
I'm really liking this game so far. I haven't encountered any random crashes so to speak, just minor texture corruption which needs sorting out soon.
WarburtonsMediumSlice
game is starting to mess up for me, in space stage whenever i zoom down to a planet the FPS of the game will go down massively making it unplayable. my system is more than enough to play it and im not running and programs in the background (even checked the processes), its only started doing this since Saturday and ive had the game since Wednesday
Ottae
I made sure not to get too hyped up about this so it didn't ruin it for me. I bought it on Saturday, and haven't played anything else since. It's f*cking awesome! I love how the game changes from 3rd person scavenger hunt to RTS style gameplay in the Tribal, then Civilisation levels. Then switches AGAIN to a more, Freelancer style explore the universe kind of thing. I never expected to see so many different types of game in one. After I got into Space, and got a bit bored after I got attacked by some knobhead aliens, I still spent ages making different ships, boats, cars, houses, etc. I also love how you can go to any stage of the game with any of your creations once you've finished it all. Not to mention the small touches to the game, like when you press a button in creator mode, the music responds and chimes, but still sounds like part of the song. And how the music fades out if you Alt-Tab out rather than stopping abruptly. I've only had 1 crash since I got it, but other than that, I've had no performance issues whatsoever. Kaj.
Picked this up yesterday and I'm liking it a lot. It's a really solid game, and though I'm only at the tribal stage, the game so far has been far more than I expected, and I've been waiting for it for the past two years. I'm a pretty happy camper. Vin.
My game hasn't crashed once, nor have I had any graphical issues either. I think this is a great game. However I do get bored in the Civilisation stage making houses and factories, etc. I've never liked designing my own house (a la Sims). But once you get through that, the game is terrific. Space stage is great, even though it does get repetitive after a while. But all in all, the game runs great, very smooth, and the gameplay is awesome. Ha been there already, nothing like seeing an epic Charizard terrorizing a nearby tribe! Or for your Star Wars fans the Millennium Falcon visiting a planet and abducting a creature. Yeah if you want less Maxis creations and more user stuff then check out the sporecasts, makes the game more fun.
Duke Nukem
Just picked it up myself, pretty damn good game. I have no complaints yet, other than my first crash. Happened about an hour after my last save, so needless to say I was pretty pissed. Oh well, I'll just work for all that good stuff again. I'm in the creature stage now, but am able to jump to the tribal stage when I see fit. Hopefully I'll still be able to from my last save.

Otter
Ditto! I'll have a dink about and let you guys know how it goes. Honestly, I think the reason I didn't pick it up was the old 'hype' backlash - I'm actually pretty stoked to dive in, now.

Is there enough time to sit down and enjoy them or does everything come to a close quite quickly? This is where the game could of been better, you do feel rushed slightly but its still enjoyable if you play it with a creative mind. The game is really what you make it, you need to be creative to get the most out of it. When you factor in the types of creatures you want to make, if you want to dominate by force or be friendly adds more to each stage so you can do them several times with slightly different styles. This is true. I wanted the cellular stage to last a lot longer, because it was quite fun. I guess the cool thing is, you can just save your planet, and start over on the other side of the galaxy. Anyhow, I'm lovin' it. It was quite a shock when I saw some of my 'Creature Creator' creatures running around in the creature stage. Especially 'Handy McTits'. Tchuck
Tribal and Civilization phases went quite fast for me. Creature phase was cool, tried to be a nice guy then gave up and just ate everyone. Cellular stage was my least favourite, at least it went by fast. Now Space phase, that rocks! The Terraforming area is my favourite one Liking the game a lot!
