RIPER Posted October 27, 2007 Share Posted October 27, 2007 Choose Server you want to download demo OOOOOOH e6400albatron 8800gts 320mb 2x1gb crucial pc2-6400 unfortunately its not really playable for me @ 1280x1024 everything high.i have to either drop to 1024x768 and keep the high settings or keep the 1280x1024 res and drop most settings to medium. ------------ I played 1680x1050, Only thing Medium was texture and shader (i know thats majority of the eye candy). Everything else was high and I was getting 22-25FPS on stock 7900GTX and it was VERY playable. ------------- I just played around with it for a little bit with my outdated videocard (X1800 XL). @ 1600 x 1200 w/ 4AA, all med settings w/ exception to shaders being set to high... i got a whole 2-3 fps lol leaving everything the same, and changing shaders from high to med gave me a min fps of 15 and in some areas went up to 25ish.. more so between 15-20fps. --------------- but my a buddy of mine has an 8500GT 256MB DDR2 and he plays fine at 1024x768 with all settings at low. About the performance issues people are having: this is easily the most graphically advanced game in existence right now. If your surprised you're only getting 20fps with everything on high @ 1900x1600 or whatever, then you're kinda crazy. I have the following: Intel P4 3.0ghz GeForce 6800 128mb 1gb RAM Sound Blaster Audigy 2 I run the game at 1024x768, with everything but shaders, physics, water, and post-processing (which are set to medium) on low. The game runs extremely smoothly. And I'm running it on a graphics card that isn't even supported, and has 128mb less than the minimum VRAM. Wanna know the kicker? It's still a really freaking amazing looking game. Fun as hell too. The nanosuit is awesome. Its really easy to learn how to use, but difficult to master. Not to mention popping some dude in the jaw, switching to cloak mode, waiting for his buddies to walk past you searching for the shooter, then you open up on them and drop them all before they can say "CLOAK WHORE!" The only thing I really have to say that might be bad, is the download is nearly two gigs, and the install is over two gigs. But theres a lot of freakin' demo in this demo. Extremely long by demo standards. P.S. running the game with everything on High turns the game into an insane slideshow: 1 frame.... every 5 seconds. P.P.S. The demo comes with, like, 16 videos and an entire freakin' trailer that you have to sit through to actually play the demo. However, if you just go into the directory and find the videos folder, you can move the videos elsewhere, so you don't have to watch them. EA at it's finest. That's good to know - everything else on my system passes the minimum except for the graphics card, which is the same as yours. Thought I wouldn't be able to run the demo but I might try it now. When I turned around I could hit his face so close... No I didn't used the invisible cloack or whatever it was. Next to this I had to walk around for 10 minutes on the island before I could get in action, when you get a car things go faster and you go immortal because you can kill everything with your car and the gun on it. Quite boring, if you save the car and watch out for grenades which fly around now and then, you can complete 1/2 of the demo just with your car. So far I see everything talking just about their graphics, fps, how high their settings are (on other forums) and not much people tell something about their gameplay experience. I think this is really much better with good graphics. Well, I didn't bothered to "try" higher settings, I had about 50fps on 1024x768 and everything on Low, just because I didn't liked it. It's like Just Cause, huge map, nothing to do. If you have FPS-games experience you are immortal with the suite you have. Shoot some, hide some, shoot again, hide for full hp, shoot some... all the way through the map. Also hear the "Maximum Strength", "Maximum Speed", "Maximum Armor" every time you switch between suit "stances" (not sure how to call those) is damn annoying really, like after 20 times hearing I thought "Mate stfu already I know it's the MAXIMUM ARMOR" Buy this game: If you can enjoy almost empty map, or have super computer to enjoy the graphics instead. Theres a lot of awesome stuff to do, and did you think about kicking the difficulty higher if you found it so easy? And on the AI thing, I was on top of one of those shacks popping people, when one of them throws a gernade to blow the entire shack down. If thats dumb AI, I'd love to see what smart AI is. And no, my AI throw nades againts rocks and kill themselfs because of this - I wish I used Fraps that minute. But I play on "Normal"-difficulty. I don't see lot of fun stuff really. If you kill those guys you can only run to the next check point. Yes I know you can pick up junk and throw around with it but thats not fun.
