KennyS747 Posted December 9, 2007 Share Posted December 9, 2007 Well, if it's a .RAR file, you'll need to extract it with WinRAR. When that's done you have to take the file that's named "GTASAsf1.b" and put it in the GTA San Andreas User Files folder in your My Documents folder. The save file (GTASAsf1.b) may have any other number in place of the one, ranging from 1-8. The number determines which save slot the Save file will appear in. So make sure it's different than any other ones you may have before you put it in the User Files folder, or else you might replace a save game you already have in there. You can get winrar on the official website: http://www.rarlabs.com. All files ending on .rar should be extracted before putting them in the GTA directory, so clothing items as well. KennyS747 Posted December 9, 2007 Share Posted December 9, 2007 Okay..How about a short explanation? Any file that is a .RAR is just an archive of other files. The program WinRAR is used to create these files, however, it is not the only program that can compress and archive files. There are many others. This one is just used by a lot of people. It takes however many files you want and compresses them, and puts them in an archive. That way it can be uploaded to a website, and downloaded just as easily. When it's just one file to download, it makes it a lot simpler to obtain. Now, when you have a .RAR file, it's almost useless until you extract it. When you extract it it uncompresses the files inside and makes them.."usable" for you. Now that you hopefully understand that... Clothes and Maps are different than Save Games, I don't believe you can just drop a map file somewhere and play. I guess it depends. If it's a map for a SA-MP server or something like that, it's different I guess. But if your talking about something that like adds an island to your existing SA map, then you might need a mod installer or something. Idk. Ask around I guess. Good luck, I hope I helped a little.
