Firetruck missions

[Claude GTA3]

OK,I've been doing these blasted missions,and the firetruck in SSV are killing me!

 

They are simply impossible (although I did it on my PS2)

 

The goddamn engine was designed to give the player time according to distance of the target,and that river that seperates pike creek from wichita gardens is killing me;I mean I get 20 seconds to extinguish a fire in Wichita Gardens,and I'm in Francis INTL.

 

any advice,my fellow GTAIII veterans?

You don't have to do them all in one go. Start the mission near the airport and only take the jobs in the regions near the airport.

I would just start the mission and if the fire wasn't close by I would cancel it and restart it again. I just kept doing that until I got all 20.

Luckily (other than the paramedic missions) most Odd Jobs are pretty easy in GTA3. Maybe some of the checkpoint missions can be difficult at times, but for firetruck and vigilante they are a piece of cake.

1. Steal a fire truck; preferably from the station opposite the airport car park

 

2. This is somewhat harder to do than before due to the more

complicated layout of Shoreside Vale. following the

destination given to you, rather than relying completely on

the map, which can seem confusing. If the game says the fire

is somewhere across the river, then you must use the bridge or

the dam to get there, no matter how out of your way that

seems.

 

3. If the first fire you're given is across the river, and you

have little chance of getting there in time, simply quit the

missions and restart. There is no penalty for doing this.

 

4. Gradually put out 20 fires on this island and you will be

paged with a message telling you that the flamethrower is now

yours to keep.

The only bad thing about doing this, Is that you will recieve about 18+ mission attempts in your stats lol .

Nope,side missions don't count in III or VC. I found an easy way to pass 'em without cancelling at all.

 

Just press F1 twice.

i don't know if somebody else has this glitch but i've completed the game 99% but it's that 1% of firetruck which i just can't complete at all

 

i started the firetruck mission on portland island and completed 20 fires. as mentioned in many walkthroughs, after completing 20 fires on each island, u get a message saying "flamethrower delivered to hideout". the problem is "NO SUCH MESSAGE appears at all. i first thought it was some glitch and contnued doing until i had extinguished 40+ fires, but even then no message appeared and there is no flamethrower at hideout. i did firetruck mission in staunton island and extinguished 42+ fires but i can't get flamethrower icon there either.

 

i can't understand wat's going on?? i have used the health cheat twice only and completed 99% of the whole game except this firetruck mission that sucks! i've tried it a lot of times using different isalnds but can't get the flamethrower generated

 

plz help
