They want Liberty City to feel as unique and as much like New York City as possible. One thing I've noticed in the screenshots is you don't see too many peds walking around. I feel like one of the most important ways for R* to get the feeling of New York right, they need to have lots of peds, and I mean lots. I want to walk down a populated sidewalk during the busy part of the day and have to shove my way though people. I think that would really help immerse people into the game. However, I know the city is huge and everything and the game is pushing the 360 to it's limits and people are looking really detailed. Do you think the number of peds on screen at one time will be comparable to New York scale wise, inbetween, or not at all? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
DigitallyInsane Posted December 9, 2007 Share Posted December 9, 2007 I'm pretty sure Rockstar have toned down things like traffic and pedestrian levels for the promotional material as to not reveal too much about the game before it is released. Let's also not forget that most of the previews such as screenshots that we are getting are from early builds of the game, and 'as such to not represent the final quality of the product'. TheRoper Posted December 9, 2007 Share Posted December 9, 2007 Yeah, this has concerned me from the beginning as well. I seriously want the sidewalks JAMMED with people and traffic in the main areas. Of course not everywhere. I'm sure it won't be like the actual NYC, but there will hopefully be MUCH more than what we see in the screens/trailers. Though, if it's not that extreme, I'll still play, cuz the past GTAs weren't that crowded and they were still great.
