Mr Slick
So after downloading firefox a few months back, i decided i would try and 'delete' every trace of IE7 off my PC (Vista). Needless to say, it didn't go according to plan. Basically what i have left is a half functioning ie7. When it tries to launch, all sorts of errors come up. Giving me the option to abort or retry. Nothing works. It is no longer listed under the add/delete files option for me to repair it. Yet seems to be sitting in my program files folder. When i try and reinstall it from the ms website, it says i already have it on my system. So how can i repair this? Thanks
Ring_of_Fire
IE7 is integrated into Vista - why are you trying to uninstall it? It's not gonna happen, so this is the main reasons why I always use IE7 because I don't have a choice and I might as well. And notice if you use Windows Update, Microsoft provides updates for Internet Explorer as well as Vista? Some features of Vista and other online applications rely on that Internet Explorer be installed. Cannot locate IE7, massacred You're most likely going to have to reinstall the Windows Vista operating system by using the Setup DVD disc. When i try and reinstall it from the ms website, it says i already have it on my system. IE7 is only available for download on Windows XP and Windows 200# operating systems. [CTD]LaBan
You could have uninstalled it from Add/Remove (Control Panel) . There's on left side tab Add/Remove Windows Components. You can uninstall this safely from there. This feature is on Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP SP2 and Vista.

I haven't tried this, but I have read this from somewhere and they said that it removes IE... Pretty sad that we can't remove IE completely. Jevon
Try going to an elevated (i.e. Admin) command prompt and running: sfc /scannow "Face Your Fears, Live Your Dreams" - No Fear"God was a dream of good government." - Deus Ex Machina "I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." - Stephen Roberts
Ring_of_Fire
You could have uninstalled it from Add/Remove (Control Panel) . There's on left side tab Add/Remove Windows Components. "Add or Remove Programs" for Vista is called Programs and Features. "Windows Components" is called Windows Features. You can't uninstall IE7 on Vista unless you do some serious hacking and modding. IE7 could be uninstalled on Windows 200# and Windows XP.
