Roman gets killed by someone?

If you watch second trailer again, when the car crashes to gas station, Niko says:

- I'm the one who survived.

Maybe it's pointing, that Roman get's killed and probobly somebody asks Niko, how could he still be alive? I thought of this when i saw in the third trailer that both Niko and Roman gets cought by some mobsters. So i think that they tryed to escape and somebody shoots Roman while actually thinking that he shot Niko. What do you think of this?

That is a good theory. I have been trying to do the same thing, linking the 3 trailers together rather than looking at them as 3 different trailers. I mean if Roman does die it will add a lot more depthinto the story, because now Niko has much more on his hands, and he wants revenge. But when he is with Roman it feels like he is doing dirty work for him. In the other three GTA's they had an ultimate goal since the beginning. Claude wanted revenge because Catilina betrayed him at the BEGINNING and Tommy needed to get the drugs/money back at the BEGINNING (even though his ultimate goal changes near the end) and CJ wanted to reunite the families and get drugs out at the BEGINNING (while also gaining respect back). All three had a goal at the beginning that led to juicy stories because all involved illegal things needed to be done. But with Niko only thing that comes to mind is he wants money and he wants to live the American Dream, well that first of all is not that juicy, and no shooting or illegal things come to mind when I think of that. But if Roman does die that gives Niko motive. But either way I trust rahkstar2.gif to the end because they know how to make a cool story, and I'm sure this one will have most depth and craziness to it.

hmm, seems like good story line.

Roman hooks you up with contacts, you start to meet people.

There could be a mission where somthing goes wrong, Roman gets killed and you survive. Obviously you inherit his taxi company and now, You only know your contacts. From there, you want to fufill you and your cousins dream, The American Dream. You have to figure it out on your own and with you're contacts.

I am sure you will make friends and obviously girlfriends.

This might happen on the last mission in the first bourough, Broker.

From there, by now you will have trusted contacts, they could help you. You then start to live life on your own and make your own choices. That might work because you probably end up in Algonquin by one of your contacts that are "up there" in Liberty city.

If anyone has played GTA: Advanced it maybe similar. You could swear revenge for your cousin as well, Or maybe Roman staged his death.

Theres alot of possibilitys.

For some reason I always thought he was referring to something that happened before he came to America.

It would make an interesting twist for Roman to be killed. A good one too as I think we're used to being betrayed by GTA characters in his role. The things they've shown in the trailers have intrigued me about the storyline. But I'm still trying not to think about it too much until I've played it.

Nice, a good theory I remain open-minded to the possibilities in the storyline. Roman may just get killed off (not necessarily by Niko) or these gangsters who we see in the recent trailer may kill Roman anyway. I do want to be surprised though with how everything develops in the storyline, we can speculate until we are blue in the face but yes anything that is suggested is possible. colgate.gif

And Victor wanted to live a normal live at the BEGINNING biggrin.gif (Toni was the only one who had in mind his goal and achieved it). I doubt that Niko will not change his path after his cousin dies. It could be the first part of the story. You know, like in older games you play till a certain point and then the whole story changes, becose someone get's killed and etc. (GTA III - Salvatore betrays you, GTA VC - you kill Diaz, SA - you get betrayed by your homies, Adv - Vinnie get's killed (btw he's not Mikes cousin, just a realy good friend), LCS - police gets something on Salvatore and you go into hidding, VCS - you steal lots of kg of coke). But i doubt he's just going to jump in this whole revenge thing. Unlike Mike, he's going to rethink it all and going to make some smart moves. Probobly the guys who came to Niko in the end, asked him to help to kill someone who probobly killed Roman, Niko didn't wanted to do that, maybe because he knows, that it's going to be more than just vendeta for him after that. But since they putted it that way, he's in colgate.gif . Anyway i have another theory. In second trailer Niko asks Roman:

- Why you did this to me?

This maybe some reference to some big thing that went down and Roman sayed that Niko was involved (he's more like Rosenberg, so he need someone to help him out, and this was probobly the only way to prevent Niko from not helping him). And when they went for the search ('I guaranttie that you will find this man'), they were probobly searching for one of "them". Then they tryed to find one of "them" and the man from the 3-rd trailer told Niko to leave his people alone, becase it wasn't them. And he probobly told them what they wanted. So Niko tryed to do something and Roman got cought (3-rd trailer two man asking Roman where's Niko). Of course Roman tolds them (or Niko shows up at that minute) and Niko gets an inventation to "little party" too and then Niko escapes and Roman probobly gets shoot...

P.S. Man that was deep Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif .

hmm...first of all, I think Niko already has a motive - we know that Roman gets into deep water with some very nasty people, and he needs Niko's help. Second, Niko is looking for someone - he said so himself. Lastly, considering how much R* have been emphasising the importance of relationship between Niko and Roman, death of Roman, or at least early death, seems unlikely.

that way, he's in  . Anyway i have another theory. In second trailer Niko asks Roman:

- Why you did this to me?

Where was that? I just watched the 2nd trailer I didn't see it.

+ Niko says he's been searching for this man for 10 years.

Very good facts you got there man. What I am surprised about is how Niko wasn't even that pissed off when Roman showed him the apartment. I would have thought he'd yell and be upset with his cousin but he's more like a surprised upset rather than a pissed off upset. I mean his cousin did lie to him.

Maybe he was in shock and was lost for words? But the again, we only seen small part of that scene, and don't know what happens afterwards.

Remember IGN Q&A? Well, this is what R* said about Niko and Roman:

Obviously this story has a heavy focus on Niko and his relationship to his cousin, Roman. Without giving away too many details, it's the dynamics of that relationship and the motivations and mistakes, past and present, that each keep hidden from the other, that drive the narrative for most of the game.

I wonder what are these hidden motivations and mistakes?

What makes me wonder even more is the fact that Roman had to lie to Niko to lure him to America. I mean, if they are really close, then why didn't Roman just tell Niko the truth, tell him that he is in trouble and ask for help? And why did Niko stay in the `old country` when Roman went to America?

I think at one point Niko does get pissed off at his cousin, because if you watch trailer 3, in the part where Niko is punching people, it looks like Niko punches Roman in the face.

I think Niko is talking about something in their past, not about Roman.

This is more likely, but if roman dies... cryani.gif , i like him a lot, the Bellic cousins have a lot of character value colgate.gif

No. If you look at carefully, you will see that Niko turns to Roman and the camera cuts to Niko punching another guy. The whole scene can look as if Niko punched Roman, but I think its R* trying to play tricks with us!

One of their mistakes was probobly something that went down in Russia. Remember that in the very first Trailer Niko says 'perhaps here, life will be diffrent'. Maybe it could point, that in Russia he actually was 'hunted'... Or even better he was both a 'hunter' and was being 'hunted'. He's searching for that unknown man which probobly did something to Niko (and probobly Roman too), and other gang end up hunting both Niko and Roman. We all seen, that Roman is more like Rosenberg, than being Sweet, so he quickly runs of to America. Apperently some of the guys fallowed them to America and now they're watching them (in third trailer Roman is finding in a dumbster and tells Niko, that he was fallowed).

I think you make good point, but I also think that we have to be careful, as we've only seen 3 trailers and handful of screens - there might be more to the story!

Yeah it's true. We still doesn't know much about the story (infact there's going to be 2 more episodes, so we absolutely don't know how things will turn out). But just for reminding, when Rockstar games had released very first trailer of GTA Vice City Stories, they actually showed us the ending scene:

Martinez and Diego (there's some guy lying too, but he was probobly removed from the game, before the released, becase in full game you don't see him) are lying on the ground, Vic is standing near them and Lance is landing maverick on top of that building. So even if it may look that we don't know anything, they might have already showed us a critical story spin-ower scene, which contains a big spoiler.
