Andyzoot
I apologize if this has been brought up before but I did search both parts of the GTA IV board and could not find anything. According to an interview by Crave Online. Iggy Pop has done some voiceover work for Grand Theft Auto 4. It only pops up up once as the interview is mainly about his music but here is the link... Iggy Pop on Lil Bush and the Stooges and here's the important part... Crave Online: This isn’t your first time doing a voiceover either. You did an episode of American Dad, right? Iggy Pop: Yeah I did. In fact I just did something for Grand Theft Auto 4 last night so I do a bit of stuff yeah. Once again, sorry if this is old. I mean this interview is from back in June. Snake Without a Tongue
Cool! Although it's probably just a radio spot. When was he on American Dad?
Rhoda
I wouldn't be surprised if he was a character, as Shaun Ryder's another musician who provided voice work for a minor character. I have a feeling he won't be a major character though. EDIT: Iggy Pop was in American Dad! doing voice work for "Candy", one of his songs. Must've sung part of it or spoken at least. I'm rather surprised to see him in this game. And although he may be voicing a new character he could be playing himself like old Phil Collins. Deuce Deuce
guess game is done, voice acting only thing left? Doubt that. They need to do alsorts of tests near to the time of the release to ensure it has as least many glitches and bugs as possible.

mr_mcgregors
guess game is done, voice acting only thing left? Like most animation, voice acting is done first and animated around afterwards so I'd say dialogue's been done a good while...
TheTruePiMs
I'd like to have Iggy Pop as story character like Phil Collins in VCS !!!! 2pac_stoffe : It's definitely not the Iggy Pop's voice for the muscular dude !!! Fakey_91
WOW, it was posted on June 6 2007. That's ages old - weird how we just found out. Oh, and if that interview was from like yesterday - I owuld be VERY concerned about the release of GTA IV in the next 3 months!! The game will be completely finished in late January. Then, it will head off to certification which ususally takes up to 3 weeks to do and then will head off to the printing and publishing facility. Then, once stock is ready to be shipped - it will be shipped, which may take upto 2 weeks. So if the voicework is still not in place, along with music, missions etc - we would expect GTA IV in June at the earliest. Luckily, that article is really old. Gave me a fright for a second!! Vanilla Shake
Iggy f*cking rocks. I hope 'Some Weird Sin' or 'Wild America' is on the soundtrack. Should be really interesting to see which character he might have voiced. I also love the song he made with White Zombie, 'Black Sunshine'. Slamman
Someone on YouTube claims the character of Niko is voiced by someone on the TV show ER IIRC, Any word on this??! I told him he should stop by the forums and enlighten us with any breaking news. Oh, Phil Collins is the perfect Genesis replacement for Peter Gabriel in my opinion, I bought the DVD collection of videos, excellent stuff!! -B Edited December 15, 2007 by Slamman
